Trump is directing his own defense, and he's the stupidest SOB on the planet. He just is. I'm sure his lawyers are drinking heavily at this point.

Depends on the jury. I think the prosecution made a pretty good case and Trump's defense was a hot mess. I'm sure he'll appeal if convicted anyway.
What defense? Their whole strategy was to undermine Cohen, but Costello looked more like he was not being fully truthful. Everyone knows that Cohen is untrustworthy, but his story stacks up with the other witness testimony and evidence. Trump's defense was ... no defense.
Costello bolstered cohens credibility. By testifying, the prosecution was able to introduce tons of emails showing he was leading a pressure campaign on trumps behalf to keep cohen from telling authorities about the stormy scheme.

So your contention is that Cohen lied about paying Daniels but is telling the truth about stealing from Trump?

He will not allow testimony from a former FEC chairman about what constitutes campaign contributions but he will allow testimony from a felon and serial liar about what is a legal NDA.
Yet another ground for appeal.
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. And Trump will appeal because the court was too cold for his fragile bones anyway.
If the jury has been paying attention there will be no need for an appeal. Bragg and company have not identified a crime. In fact the one crimes we have heard about are those committed by Cohen. Including embezzlement
Exactly.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Did Bragg pass on a felony charge on his own witness to go after a misdemeanor?
I seem to recall reading an article indicating that the embezzlement (or grand theft?) statute of limitations expired, which is why Cohen admitted his actions on the stand. While Bragg could have found a way to resurrect those charges, he wouldn't have Cohen as a witness.
