That talent is either non existent or has been pushed out of the club already by McLean’s finest, The Honorable JA.

If you’re talking about the 2011s, 2 girls left that had talent. The other two left bc they couldn’t get playing time. And now those same parents are probably getting insecure with the same girls coming for their spots now haha!

Curious if these players are getting better playing time? Asking genuinely as wondering if my kid would actually getting the playing time moving to a pretty much pre existing team at other club that is currently better than the team she’s on. Or what people think they are getting moving the club.

Really not cool to talk about 12-13 year old kids on this board. Get a life.

But it’s cool to say entire teams of 12-13 year old kids have non existent talent?

Why do you think that the girls were up to the clubs? That makes no sense. It was all or nothing. ECNL does not want clubs without both a boys and girls side.

All over the country there are clubs with girls but not boys…

All the McLean 2012 girls showed up for SYC tryouts, and none made the team? oooff that was a broken union.

Should be plenty of McLean girls looking to make this Union then, and that explains the neuroticism. 2 McLean girls offered when whole team attended ID so confirming yes they are looking for a home wit FVU

Some Mclean 12s already accepted SYC offers.

People will really commute from McLean to Springfield for 12yo soccer?

Wow. Apparently I don't love my kids enough.

Another blindly privileged McLean parent speaking out of their arse. Do you realize how lucky you are to have all these options to choose from within a 15-20 mile radius and you wouldn't choose a team because of what traffic?

NP, but YES! I can't imagine a much worse drive (other than McLean to Montgomery Co) multiple times a week during rush hour (which is when those practices usually are). Were were a pretty hard-core soccer family at that age, but we didn't regret it one bit when we cut drive time to practice by 50%.

Play along with a McLean parent:

6p practice in Springfield. Have to leave home at 5:15 at the latest. Have to stay b/c there is barely time to get back home and get back for pickup. Practice ends at 7:30. Get home at 8:00. Start dinner......

Or 6p practice in McLean. Leave at 5:40, back home by 6:10, have an hour to prepare dinner, workout, drive the other kid to their practice, etc, before pickup at 7:30. Home at 7:40 and dinner is partly/mostly prepared...

Plus, having practice so far away pretty much eliminates the possibility/benefit of having one parent drop off and the other pick up.

We ARE lucky to have all these choices, which is why we don't have to drive 30+ minutes away for every practice.

Not gonna lie, I'm doing about a 35-40 minute soccer commute right now and it's pretty grueling. I'm definitely enjoying it for what it is, but it does preclude any other evening activities several nights a week.

Same for us, lots of driving. It’s a snapshot of their life though and benefits outweigh the grind IMO. I can work out at the field and meal prep on Sundays. Not perfect but I would never give up the quality time with my DD

Easy

Step 1: Someone in a leadership position thought it was a good idea to inform a coach (let's call him Coach A), before the club's ducks were in a row.
Step 2: Coach A told Coaches B, C, and D
Step 3: Coaches B, C, and D, told Coaches E, F, G, H, I, and J that he/she heard a rumor.
Step 4: 20+ "insider" parents have now been informed of said rumor and one of them posted it on DCU

All you have to do is read the MYS board minutes that are online from November to see that the Board was proactively exploring ending the SYC relationship back in November and was actively seeking other club options.

He was already DOC for VA Union and McLean ECNL before that.

I don't believe NM will do anything for GFR in his capacity as the TD. GFR fired their previous TD and, it seems, they quickly hired NM so, on paper, they could say that they have a TD. The e-mail that was sent out to GFR families said that DMV FC teams and coaches would be joining GFR starting in 24/25 but the hiring of NM as the GFR TD and ML as the GFR DOC was apparently effective immediately. They are both listed (with their titles) on the GFR website at https://www.gfrsoccerclub.org/Default.aspx?tabid=1209808. Until a few days ago, the "term expiration" column for both NM and ML said "per signed contract" but then someone edited the page to remove those references. Thus far, anyway, there have been no communications to GFR families from NM nor, to the best of my knowledge, has he attended or been involved with GFR teams in any way. So what is GFR paying for?

His NIL 🤣

That's pretty much what it seems like. Who knew GFR had so much money that they could afford to throw it away on something like that?

What is NIL?
