Yeah no let’s leave Aiden in the past lol. They were awful for each other.

+1 I really hate this retread.

I don't mind it. And it had to be done or at least addressed. That's what the whole show has been about so far - how everyone is doing with their chosen path and revisiting greatest hits. Unless they save the Aiden storyline to the end I will be really surprised to see this renewed for a third season.

I actually think Carrie and Aiden could be good together. But it would make for boring TV.

I was re-watching the original series awhile ago and it's striking how Carrie really has no measurable personality attributes. She's a conduit or a reflection for the other three character's stories. It would be interesting to see if she's actually grown or learned anything in the last 20 years.

I couldn't watch the And Just Like That show. No. They could have made a new show.

Here’s my guess - they were not invited by Pat Field.

There seems to be some sort of schism between the original SATC creative team & Catrell vs. SJP/MPK who rebooted the new AJLT series (which they are very careful to never call it a “Sex and the City” sequel…I’m pretty sure Candace Bushnell owns the copyright to that title).

It’s all pretty fascinating. All the focus was on Catrell supposedly being a sour-puss for not participating in the reboot, but it actually seems like there is a much bigger fight between SJP and the show’s original creatives.

Also, this is just SHADE by Candace Bushnell 😂

Yes there were some flat moments (I really really missed Samantha- the ladies’ discussions over drinks/meals were just not the same - and Stanny, too- sob!), but I thought the characters aged well and highlighted age appropriate and current issues. I think the 3 lead actresses kept their characters true to their SATC selves while bringing new challenges to them. I liked the new characters, too. I hope this is renewed and I hope that Samantha returns.

+1
just watched the whole season and it's better than I expected.

I was hate watching it at first but it really grew on me.

I'm on Episode 6 now. I watched Ep 1 and 2 and was like, no thank you, but it's getting better the further in you get (that's what she said). The possibility of John Corbett coming back in Season 2 drew me in. Kristin Davis is too one note, but the writers did a good job with Charlotte in this. I found her pretty relatable re: what she was dealing with as a mom.

Miranda less so, but Cynthia Nixon is good and a bit more than what she was back in the day. I found the portrayal of her drinking problem unrealistic. I haven't seen the end of the season so can't say what I think of the resolution of her story with Che, but I surprised myself by not hating that storyline. I kind of think Che is a villain in the vein of Big.

Also more Sarita Choudhury - in everything. She is wonderful.

I could deal with a Che villain arc and then maybe Miranda could find a nice woman her own age who doesn’t make everyone cringe.

Or a nice non-binary person!
