My analysis is that management appears to be dysfunctional on multiple levels and has been for years.

They opted not to do due diligence on Burke and when concerns were brought to their attention anyway, chose to ignore them.

This is a business problem, but let's pretend it's about "wokeness."

Think the bolded pretty much covers that.

But having worked at another organization that chose to overlook negative input during the hiring process, I've seen it end badly, and that's exactly what happened here.

Nah. We've got social justice to combat and that's more important than that. Look at Angel City's hiring. Had to hire a woman coach. Thought of getting the assistant off the best club in the league was non-starter because he was a man. Vlato is going to be in the same situation soon if he doesn't keep the train rolling. It's sad but that's where we are.


What?!!?!?!? A woman head coach, coaching a women run and women owned team in a women's league?? Are there any opportunities for white men anymore?

Idiots - 1998 article that basically called out for him saying things at the time that were commonplace. I don’t agree with what was said - if he said them to begin with - but give me a break, there is no reason to hold it over him 23 years later.

Countless players love the man - just turn to Mia Hamm, and countless other players of national stature.
