Why did you move here? Shoulda stayed in Ohio.
Ignore the clown. His kid will wash out by U12 and get replaced. Way this works.

I know of at least three. And yes, there are zero girls.

Looks like the power structure of development for youth soccer is DC United, Arlington, Alexandria
My kid is at one of the listed clubs but I assure you, SYC, VDA, Loudoun and others will be in the mix in VA.
SYC generated buzz when they had a big influx of players come from LMVSC. Since then, every year they've had players leave the top team. The 2003 boys are their best (and oldest) team; not many players left. One or two from the 2004 team left, then a few from their 2005s and 2006s et cetera. Their numbers will slowly dwindle; and this is why they decided to partner with Manassas and McLean. They're not in the interest of investing in developing players, they're in the interest of recruiting players for wins. Wins equal 'success' and league status. This is their business model.
Arlington, Alexandria, and yes I agree with you VDA are the best at investing and development for even after they go to college. Many of these SYC players can play one brand of football; that's not the most ideal situation for $2500 a year for club fees (before you throw in team fees).
Agree, at LMVSC they used to take pride on bringing scholarship kids in and now SYC is having to deal with more than they can keep up. It's a business.
