The only Top 25 ranked school in the convo is Georgetown at number 5.

So, the only area club currently with a Top 25 commitment is Arlington.

And she was a Spirt/Metro transfer

How you like them apples?

Loooooloooooool

HaHaHa! That’s funny... But seriously it’s because all conferences haven’t finished the season yet. Just wait until after the spring season/tournaments are finished. It will change.

Goalkeepers are different altogether as is their recruiting. Then again the FCV goalkeepers dont seem to have committed anywhere yet.

Uh....what’s the difference? It’s GTown. Top notch kid with a crazy high GPA. Wouldn’t be surprised if she had an associates before stepping in the door.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is elite.

Some poster on here thinks the most important factor to consider is the ranking of the soccer program and I beg to differ.

Don't know if that was you or another of the charmers on here but who cares. I stand by my opinion.

No. I said the exact opposite. I didn't even mention soccer. I said if my kid wanted to study engineering my first choice would be Tech. Period. Regardless of soccer. Furthermore, I'd pay the tuition (after 30% discount in the PP hypothetical scenario) over a free ride to GW.. Avg. starting salary out of Tech is higher, especially for engineers. When you add in the fact that Tech is an ACC school and my kid could play in that conference and get to go to big time college Football and Bball games and get to enjoy a full university experience (vs. that which GW offers), do real, meaningful research projects that make a difference (like Flint water issues), and get to experience the outdoors and nature and beauty of Tech, vs. getting car-jacked in DC, it is a no brainer if you can afford 70% of the tuition (which I can). BTW - you didn't express and opinion, you simply made a non-sensical statement about studying engineering a G'town (which no one said you could do). So while I may be a charmer, you're simply a moron.

Tech would be your first choice for engineering? What about MIT, Stanford, Caltech, CMU, GT?

Getting car jacked in Georgetown?

This is some FCV mom nonsense. Keep trying to justify your poor life decisions.

We weren’t talking about other schools. Go back and re-read the posts. Yes MIT and Stanford, etc. are superior. No one’s debating that fool. Yes, you’re much more likely to get carjacked in DC than in Blacksburg. Even in Georgetown. Not sure how you don’t know that, but understand that you’re having trouble following reality. That’s ok, low IQ people can post here too.

Anyhow, how many girls have Loudoun, Metro U, VDA, and BRYC combined placed at GW or G’town or VT in the past 4 years? Now compare Arlington, McLean, and FCV. Let’s see the facts. BTW, I dislike FCV, but do acknowledge their track record with a very narrow, selected slice of their female paying customers. The rest of their program is a joke and is used to subsidize a small few coaches that do a nice job for one girls team per older age group. It is a boutique club for top level girls in NOVA. Kind of liking working out at TSJ and paying $20 for a poorly made hamburger is “boutique”. A small set of people will pay for this keeping over the Jones status. CZ knows this and takes advantage of it, but at the same time does the work to help those select few get landed at D1 schools. It is not one or the other. It is both. For most, FCV is a joke, but for the select, rich, privileged few it is worth it.

PP getting mad bc people are challenging his narrow narrative. It’s like saying who has the best burger between McDonald’s, Taco Bell and papa johns and when someone says five guys the response is “I wasn’t talking about five guys. So see McDonald’s has the best burgers in the world, told you so”

Not it's not just a thought. It is a sermon. So you are not only condescending, you are also a liar.

Track record of Arlington, McClean and FCV parents socioeconomic status going to two private schools and one public school versus others? How asinine.

Yes, when it comes to Engineering you’re right, it isn’t close. No one knows Georgetown, other than John Thompson, Patrick Ewing and a Rob Lowe and Demi Moore movie from the 80’s. But for Law, Business, PPolicy, of course G’town is much better recognized.

Anonymous wrote:"VT may be a Top 25 girls soccer school but it’s not close on school rankings."

Yes, actually VT is close. In fact it ranked quite highly in certain fields of study, and those fields of study pay more starting salary than G'town. Yes, if my kid is going to Law school, or wants to study public policy, or getting an MBA G'town is a superior choice, but for Technology and Engineering it is Tech. So it is not as simple as you make it seem.

Back to the FCV debate. The poster that talks about players playing at the highest levels in college. Who cares? The whole point is to get your kid the best education they can get possibly for less money. Soccer is a means to an end, except those that want/can go pro in a significant (re: European) league. If they are that good, they shouldn't be going to a U.S. college anyhow. It's off to the pro club and they'll get their college degree on the side. If not Europe, they'll end up making more $$$ as a college grad in their field of study. Especially in the DC metro area.

You seem like a smart person. Look at the roster and tell me how many engineers in training you see.

Again, not talking about other girls, only mine in this hypothetical. I agree with your point however, that too many girls and their parents worry about the quality of the soccer program vs. the quality and reputation of the school in their desired field of study.

Who cares what you beg to do, high level players want high level competition they want to compete with the best. Totally different mind-set, something you obviously know nothing about.

How does FCV fit into this is the GA?

Going back to the original post... FCV gets those kids in high level colleges where it matters, everything else is a business and a stepping stone.

This! It doesn’t matter what league FCV is in! We do placement like no other lazy club in the area. VT? Easy, Bobby sends 1 text. Georgetown? Bobby sends 1 email. UVA? Bobby makes 1 call. No other club can do this. They are all cash grabs for ignorant parents

NO no no. VT - Christian makes the call to Chugger. GTown - no connection. GTown told FCV players FCV can't develop midfielders. Wont even talk to FCV. UVA - Walk on, no playing time only. FCV has had one kid at UVA and they dont play. For connections - got to McLean.
