There is a poster in the Relationship forum who believes spouses should accept and put up with abusive behavior because the abuser is mentally ill. Someone might post a heartfelt post about how she can't take her depressed spouse's constant screaming at her, and how her spouse berates her. If the OP says that she is thinking of leaving the abusive spouse, the immediate response is "Would you leave if your spouse had cancer??? Huh?? You are a terrible person." Or some variation on that.

I despise that poster. I am convinced that poster is an abuser who wants to continue abusing her spouse.

It makes me cringe anytime posters use the word classy or try to pass judgment on whether something is or is not classy.

The people who use an ADHD diagnosis or similar to justify all of their behavior, including just rude, terrible behavior. And I say this as someone who has struggled with depression and anxiety my whole life. You can have and be working on you mental health issues without using it to justify being a jerk. ADHD is a diagnosis, not a get out of jail free card.

The scientist, or daughters of a scientist, or someone in the medical field (although they have nothing to do with immunology) who claim they know better with regard to Covid. Sorry random Internet person, I’m not gonna stop wearing a mask just because you say it’s OK.

I am one of the posters who reports regularly to Jeff.

My most annoying posters are the ones who post racist, misogynist, ageist, ableist, homophobic, or just plain nasty posts, because I then have to report them. Jeff deletes nearly immediately, but it's annoying to have to do it. It's hateful and awful.

After that, I hate the nasty wealthy SAHMs on this site who seem to enjoy saying terrible things to working women, especially those working women who work at jobs they deem beneath them. (Whenever I read them, I think that one of the Wives from The Handmaid's Tale is posting.) Similarly, I hate the nasty working women who disparage SAHMs. Finally, I hate the people who insist that one group or the other are the only ones bashed on DCUM. I regularly report vicious posts (which Jeff deletes), and I can assure you that I report evenly from both groups. If you think only "your" group is targeted on DCUM, it probably means you are being nasty yourself.

I comment on older threads that I find helpful. The fresh conversation is sometimes separate than the OP’s. But it prevents the a-hat that later links previous threads on same subject. Guess you can’t win ?
