All of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid/Dork Diaries books. Describing middle school girls as "hot" and blathering about cell phones and who's popular. Ugh. I tossed them in the trash and we're reading A Wrinkle in Time.

We love the Fancy Nancy books as my name is Nancy and it is my daughter's middle name (as well as my mom's middle name).
