Bethesda beat the #1 team in Virginia- a strong-ish McLean team.
This entire thread is talking about MD teams, and Bethesda proved who was the better team at the moment in the area. It was the first time they had played as a team together.
Time will tell when we see how they do against their ECNL opponents when their season picks up.
And how they do in the Bethesda Cup- theyll most likely be up against Baltimore Celtic, Clarkstown Elite, Crusa FC, World Class, etc.
Sorry, no they didn't.

Sloppy, sloppy play on both sides of whoever is playing McLean.
Sorry, they did. Is is that hard to do just a LITTLE research on this one before you reply and look dumb?
We are talking Bethesda ECNL team, (not Bethesdas 2nd team.) Who beat Mclean in the final yesterday.
McLean is not the #1 team in Virginia...
Stop drinking the kool-aid!

It is impressive that both made it to finals. But at least today Bethesda was the better team.
So the top 5 are:
1 FCV
2 Bethesda
3 McLean
4 Metro United
5 Arlington
(Would love to see Pipeline or Baltimore Armour beat one of these teams this year but until it happens they don’t make the top 5)
What’s Impressive about getting to the discovery cup finals? The group stage was a joke.
1. Pipeline
2. Fcv
3. Bethesda
4. Metro
5. VDA
Can you please explain why think VDA 05 is better than McLean 05 and Arlington 05? They lost to McLean. Arlington is second place in their division of DA behind FCV for 05.
Agree here...I don't think VDA cracks the top 5 and is actually near the bottom. I mentioned before the season they would experience a dip this season based on the coaching staff and player moves. That seems to be showing in their results.
What sort of player movement? Where did the players go?
Anonymous wrote:I agree that the Discovery Cup group stage was a joke. One side basically had the B team of two ECNL clubs competing against ECNL teams. Discovery is not relevant other than a chance for teams with HS players to get together before their actual tournament season begins.
