No one is saying they never take private flights, obviously they do given their access and wealth, but they do and always have exercised a decent bit of restraint doing it in excess. Have H & M ever taken an economy flight since they’ve been married? It’s been nothing but excess displays of their wealth since they came on the scene which is the exact opposite of what they Royal family is supposed to promote.
They flew commercial for their entire 2018 pacific royal tour. They flew coach last year to Nice for New Years.

Mustique by private (every year), Verbier to ski by private. William flew to Davos by private to speak about climate change. William flies by helicopter between Kensington Palace and Anmer Hall regularly. He also lectured Africans about having too many children harming the planet, while he was expecting a third kid. Spare us.

Sure. Aside from that, he behaved like old money. He quietly went about business. He wasn't galavanting around the globe on private jets and yachts on a seemingly endless vacation.
Charles has always used private jets. Hell, he even brings his own toilet seat. There was a story in a biography about him once bringing his own bed and artwork for a weekend shooting party at some peer's weekend pile. Let's not forget too the royal yacht that has now been decommissioned.
