Hahah I read this as Halle Berry and thought "little" mermaid? More like menopause mermaid. But okay this is much more appropriate.

A little off topic here, but Halle’s mom, Courtney, was my friend and friend to just about everyone at Lake Braddock. Legitimately one of the nicest people I’ve ever known in my life. She was also All-Met many times over in track and field. I’m so happy to see her kids succeeding. It couldn’t happen to a better person.

Feel free to use the Google machine about African mermaid deities.

Sure, the Danes had no stories of their own, no culture of their own, they could only take an African water goddess who can walk on land and change her into a mermaid (a siren) who wants to walk in land and sells her voice to do it. Sure.

You are too worked up about this.
