Okay, I think these entitled idiots deserve to be dethroned and heavily penalized, but they don't deserve jail time. I also don't think most people deserve actual jail time — and obviously POC and poor people are victims of America's criminal justice system which is beyond effed up. But let's not wish people who aren't psychopathic criminals (like Trump and his ilk) get locked up for things that haven't caused massive damage. They are horrible mistakes, but jail should be reserved for people who will hurt other people if left free.

She has not been convicted of anything. It’s a damn shame people in this country have forgotten that simply because a person is arrested doesn’t make the person guilty. Police and FBI arrest and make allegations against people all the time., and some of these people are never convicted.

The feds have something like a 93% conviction rate, this isn't your local chubby cop giving you a frivolous ticket to make his quota. Get a grip.

Katie Couric went to UVA; she’s very bright and her kids had access to a great education and opportunities.

These schools want the kids of famous people. It is part of their appeal. The kids of these celebrities certainly have gone to better schools than their parents, who were't famous when they were of college age. Rob Lowe did not go to college and Brian Williams dropped out.

because you're in the DC/East Coasts bubble. It's common knowledge that USC is one of the most prestigious private universities in the US.

Well, USC is prestigious in the LA bubble like UVA is prestigious in the DC bubble. I'm not saying they aren't very good schools, but reputations rise in certain areas. People in LA don't consider USC at the level of HYPS, but it is a bar to hit for social and academic prestige.

This poor black teenager was held for 3 years at Rikers on suspicion of stealing a backpack because his family couldn't post bond. A backpack. He committed suicide when he was released because he was so traumatized.
