Yep, there you go, ruining the fun again.
What is so unspeakable? Please give some details.

Needless to say it was the most enjoyable call I’ve ever been on. “Surprisingly” it was the only IV I couldn’t hit in my life so he had to go without any pain meds.
NP. Maybe it’s mean, but being bullied can really leave scars. So the bully got to feel some pain for 15-20 minutes after making PP feel pain, fear, self-loathing, dread, etc. for a long stretch of time. It’s not the best, but it’s understandable and now maybe PP can close that chapter.

Ppl are acting as if he let him die. He just didn't get some pain relief for 15 minutes.

You read it the way it was intended to be read. Dcum population is too often so pedantic that the lack common sense.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Seriously? Nailed it. Some of these people are actively seeking schadenfreude/karma/revenge/pay back - and mistaking one for the other.
This. Please stop this mindless and ignorant cultural misappropriation of the Hindu concept of Karma. You all are mostly talking about revenge, payback etc.
+100. There are some sick, sick people on dcum. Truly evil. This is exactly why you read so many miserable posts from miserable women. It isn't Karma. It's simply the Universal Law of the Universe. You reap what you sow. You can't plant corn and be shocked when beans grow. You can't hold anger and hatred in your heart and expect to be a decent person. It really is that simple.
wtf does the bolded mean?
I have no idea what that means either! I grew up on a farm and I, sure as shit, would be shocked if beans grew where we'd planted corn!
"You reap what you sow" does not equal "You can't plant corn and be shocked when beans grow". They are literally opposites. Seriously?
I cannot believe that people are confused about this. It's a pretty basic concept - and reap/sow is the SAME concept as corn/beans.
That is - what you put out into the world (what you sow / the corn you plant) is what will come back toy in the world (what you reap / corn not beans).
oh wait- I see now. The expression is not typed correctly. It's you can't plant corn and be shocked when beans DON'T grow. I read it so fast it just flowed in my mind.
Have you no basic reasoning skills or are you just dense? Basically you reap what you sow.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:

I would too!! I still don't get but would love to... super condescending PP who wrote "You can't plant corn and be shocked when beans grow.", would you please come back and explain this?! I even googled it to no avail.

Lots about how I could trust him with our future children with the chance he could fall off the wagon. Did I really want to be with an addict (regardless of the fact that he was in recovery)?
Many years later, DH and I are happy and in a loving marriage. And we work together to maintain his sobriety.
She is in a horrible marriage where there is lots of contempt and hatred for each other. His behavior got worse and worse. Turns out, he's an opioid addict. He's in recovery now. But their marriage still sucks.
I love her and I'm sad for her that she is in a bad marriage. But I found it ironic that the thing she objected so much about in my life, happened in her life.
Meh. I kinda think she was giving you wise counsel. Marrying an alcoholic is high risk::shrugs shoulders::
