I agree with you re family name 100%. Poor tactics by JB supporters for sure. No matter if JB is your Dad, Husband, Coach or friend, I understand passionate defense, but it seems to really taking a nasty turn for a few posters. It certainly reflects poorly on the school, as this whole incident and the continued vitriol question if my son should consider Bullis in a few years.

A few things i don't quite understand: If you go back a few pages and read all the posts, I am surprised in that even if a parent did have issues with JB, I dont believe he actually had a vote when it came to letting him go. That was the administration and a few board members, from earlier posts. Why no ire toward them? They didn’t have to listen to the parent or assistant coaches, right? They opted to and then actually voted to remove him before public sentiment brought him back, again based on previous posts. Am I to assume that all of the so-called committee members all got taken advantage of by a parent and a few assistant coaches and talked into this mess? Not sure I buy that, as I would hope the Administration has a better pulse on things than any parent when it comes to any school program, athletic or academic.

Also, if JB is to be successful going forward, he needs to bring in a bunch of players in the next few years, correct? If the program falters because players leave or get run off by ardent supporters and are then replaced by younger/potentially lesser players, how is that helping the program be successful? They have a massive Senior class, and then only really couple of Junior attackman with the DCE Sophmore group left. Heavy transfers would be only option, which I believe is one of the factors mentioned that started this whole mess. JB’s legacy is at stake. Right now, JB has an opportunity to go down as one of the best lacrosse coaches in IAC history if he can put together a great 5-7 year run, and certainly best at Bullis ever. I would think his supporters would want to make it easier, as opposed to potentially harder on him, to cement that legacy as it relates to the IAC.

I am still confused. Does Bellistri recruit upper school kids and push for lowering admission standards and/or tuition and then play those kids without giving others a fair shot? Or is it DCE who pushes this practice? Or is it a mix and both sides just hate each other?

Has the coach been reinstated or not?
Did the STAB kid go back or staying for his senior year?

Every high level team my kids have been on have had parents who resent the coach, and this includes teams that have had objectively outstanding coaches, and coaches that had a some pretty obvious flaws. 99% of the time the resentment comes from playing time issues. Many of the parents whose kids don't start or play a lot are fine with it and just happy to be on the team/have the chance to improve. But there are always parents who think their kid is better than some of the starters and it drives them insane. This type of parent is always going to side with whatever coach tells them what they want to hear, which is that their kid is awesome and ought to be promoted over the kids they think are less deserving. I am not at Bullis, but I've seen situations similar to the one alleged here happen time and again.

So pathetic. Glad that the reasonable families and players won out over a few bullies.

The parents LOVE JB. It's only these jerk DCE assistants and that Bullis/Bethesda dad who is upset about playing time who are doing behind the scenes maneuverings.

Prediction. The dad on the Bullis voard resigns and his family leave Bullis. DCE gets kicked out of Bullis and have to scramble for fields.

To be sure the parents dote on their kids, but this has more to do with a failure of leadership with the school head which allowed this to happen. Now let’s move on to fall sports!

One can make an argument both in that the school does itself no favors by recruiting short term kids to play sports and by saying a board member(s) went about this the wrong way with their motives being self serving. Is his kid any good? Was he displaced by an upper school transfer recruit getting special favors? Then I think it's a valid point for the board/father to make. I do know I've seen lots of kids on the bench or end up not playing because of these transfers who aren't good enough to warrant it.
