I see so much complaining here about things that weren't handeled, but in our situation they absolutely were.
Knew all 3 kids personally, and went out of her way to have contact with them - in a good way.
Not sure when this occurred. I can tell you our experience with her the last few years has been one of indifference and ignoring or not understanding what was going on in the school and with the students. You only have to look at the long list of issues and problems that have occured at Churchill the last few years to see that the Principal was not able to manage the school. She may have known your kids but most days she was a ghost in that school. It has been a reactive environment not proactive. How MCPS allowed her to stay Principal in the wake of what occurred the last few years not to mention her letter a few years ago regardi g the African American students at the school shows how completely clueless tbey are about what a Principal should be.

A meet and greet could have been arranged prior to her start but after the BOE announcement as a way to send well wishes to Dr. Benz and welcome the new principal. That would have been a better transitory step versus having meet and greets in the middle of summer break. So be it. Communication skills obviously are not an important skill developed during the MCPS training process because many of her cohorts in M C PS have the same problem.
