Yup - I fly to Atlanta a lot for work and there are flights every hour or two so on multiple airlines. And they would not be full on a Wednesday - I've often been able to change flights at the last minute. In fact she could still catch a flight.There is a flight at 7:09, 7:43, all the way to 10:25 tonight and they have space on them according to google flights.

Having traveled a lot internationally there is no way I would spend a night in Atlanta (or wherever) on the way home and delay my return another day.

Fly to ATL yourself and show up at the hotel unannounced. About a 2-21/2 hour flight

Just hire a PI in the city where she's going.
