I'm so excited about the space and having a permanent location. I'm in full support of it, and I hope LAMB works with families to figure out transit needs. I like that the school will stay in Ward 4, which has the highest % of Latino families in the city. That's important to us as a Latino family in Ward 4 (who has many black, white, and multiracial neighbors).

Letter was silent but I would imagine total enrollment will not change. LAMB just received approval in 2016 to raise its population over the course of ten or so years.

LAMB is not going to organize a bus system. If parents want one, the parents will have to organize and pay for it.

Wards 6, 7, and 8 account for 12% of current enrollment. A material percentage, but still very much a minority. I don't know how much W5 families (as I'm not one) will fight a consolidation at Kingsbury. We, parents, knew Walter Reed is our future for MS and HS.

NP here who won't be in the lottery for PK3 until 18-19. Kingsbury location is great for us, walking distance from our house! Did the letter say if this would mean more seats? or same size?

And as a bonus, we can assure ourselves of more families from Ward 3 and less poor black kids all around! Yay!

I'm all for Kingsbury too. The prospect of safe green areas sounds amazing! Building looks beautiful too. If you are happy about this potential move feel free to testify and write letters too. At the end of the day they will never be able to please all parents so make peace with that and support or oppose the potential move as it suits your needs, we all have to pick our battles and live with or accept the outcome.

We're a newly enrolled PK3 family. I've seen other posters reference a Yahoo Group. Is that something we can join now, and if so, what's the name of the group? A quick search of the Yahoo Groups page didn't come up with anything. Thanks!
