Her husband is prob 70 and done making money and they have to liquidate and downsize and lay low. She also probably never had more then 10 "rich" years. She didn't come from money and she didn't make enough to have her own children be worry free. I think she always aimed for that but he can only work so many years. She hasn't even been in the house she sold very long. I assumed she built it and raised her kids in it but she bought it 10 years ago on a foreclosure.

I think he's treating her like he treats his daughter -- who is about the same age as Ashley. My friend knows all of them, as her husband is a part owner of the bar/club L2 in Georgetown, and Ashley was a bartender there, which is how she met her husband in the first place.
I think she acts like a child. That last fight they had prior to the event they had at their restaurant was ridiculous. Every time he tried to talk, she cut him off and yelled at him. I remember thinking at the time I watched it "well, that's why he treats you like a child...b/c you act like one."

We get about 288k from interest yearly after a few continual investments are fed. It's plenty to live off of (especially since our house is paid off) but it's nothing to write home about. Monique may have double or triple that amount in the bank NOW but I will be curious to see what they are up to in 10 years. I've seen 17 friends file bankruptcy. About 1 in 19 college couches make 6 figures and 1 in 290 make 7 figures. All these dudes always think they can couch somewher
Sorry got cut off. They all think they can coach somewhere and be fibe. That's not the case hardly ever. Same with annoucing. My DH is a CPA but works very part time (70k a year at most) but it gives us benefits and something to keep him busy. I would say we have 40 athlete friends and the 23 that haven't gone broke have gotten crazy close. About 5 of us have been ok. It's sad but we never had money or knew anyone with a lick of it so we were vulnerable to so many mistakes. I wish I could ait down with Monique. That paster ain't no4thing but a greedy manger/agent.

What are you basing this statement on? He can get a job just like anybody else. Plenty of former professional athletes have done it.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I like Monique, but she dresses real Jersey Shore ish; tacky.
I agree. She's clearly the most wealthy of the bunch, but she dresses in such a tacky way. She needs to learn that less is more. It's interesting that she and her husband seem very down-to-earth, given their wealth. I was also interested in seeing her parents, thinking they'd be very Jersey-ish. They seemed lovely though. I wonder where Monique gets her street-talk from.
I truly don't think they understand that he has no more income coming in and won't for the next 40 years, that's not going to last at their burn rate and he doesn't appear to have many prospects on the horizon. The history books are full of professional athletes that have lost it all.
