So, you have not gone through the college application process with one of your children yet? You may have a different perspective after you have.

What is your purpose with test prep? When you say that preparation leads to success, how do you define success? What do you want your children to get out of test prep? And not a list of aphorisms please, but specifics as to what you would see as a successful outcome to test prep for your children. Thanks.

Why the assumption that the poster is not an immigrant and the kids who had to go to test prep were immigrants? I wouldn't make assumptions about such things.

Some kids need test prep and it works for them, some kids don't need it, some kids do it for hours every week but it doesn't do any good. Some parents think test prep will work magic and are genuinely disappointed if they don't get the results they hope for. It's probably a good idea to avoid putting all your eggs in one basket.

And, btw, I'm not sure where you got there was any indication as to whether my children were "immigrant children" or not. I did not mention our immigrant status in any of my post.
