The BI bus from the King Street metro great alternative to the carpool line. You drop off your student at the metro and there are two designated times BI buses transport students up Duke St.

The new parking procedure put in place this year has made carpool more user friendly.

There are no "walkers." This is high school. Students can arrive how they please (walk, bike, bus, drive or be driven). The heavy traffic is just around the bell. After that it's normal traffic. You can very easily anticipate it to avoid.

Yes, but there's a city bus stop right in front of the school so some kids take that.

Families frequently block our driveways "just for a minute", live park by parked cars, and create traffic jams dropping off kids (with band instruments, etc.) and then do illegal u-turns so they can get to work on time---making neighbors late.

The school counts these kids as walkers which is good for their "environmental initiatives" but it is insincere. The school just didn't leave space for a good drop off lane, which is sorely needed.

My oldest is a 9th grader. I am amused by your comment because I too did not appreciate the difference between a k-8 drop off and a high school drop off. For one thing, there are no kids classified as walkers by the school. The school does not keep track of that. For another, there are plenty of student drivers parking all over the side streets, hopefully considerately. For yet another, these kids do not take forever to get out of the car and parents are quick to drop off rather than have to wait for them lug heavy instruments around. Lol

Thank you! I’m crossing my fingers it was our first choice also. Still got into good schools but I had Fallen in love with BI

You can drop off wherever you want and traffic is really only an issue the 15 min before the bell and 15 min after the dismissal bell. I’d just drop your kid a block up or at the Giant if you really wanted to avoid. Campus opens at 7 so if you get there between 7-740 it’s usually really easy.
