I don't think you were being literal, exactly. Consciously you aren't there yet. But, the impulse to write that came from within you. Somewhere. On some level, you would think the person deserved it and had brought it upon themselves somehow, even if consciously you viewed it as a regrettable excess. Omelettes and eggs, after all. Indeed, you can't even walk back your remarks without the use of profanity. And without saying she "deserves" that kind of rhetoric.

Not really, no. I'm over it. It is what it is. It would be like getting mad about the sun going down. What is the point? The increasing demands of voters for the government to give them stuff is a known failure mode of democracy. De Tocqueville predicted it. The consequences are predictable, and will be very harsh. The one thing that I learned from Tuesday night was that it was already too late for this country to change course. I will simply deal with whatever comes as best I can.
Still utterly hilarious that there are folks who think the GOP is the party of "makers" rather than the party of institutional welfare and rent-seeking. Bonus points for the generic shout-out to de Tocqueville. You seem like a Newt Gingrich -caliber deep thinker. Heh.

Most GOP voters I've met are welfare mooches in denial. The military-industrial complex is the biggest wealth transfer from producers to moochers in existence. And that comes almost entirely from productive blue states to moocher red states.

Romney supporter here: I actually agree with this. I think Bush the Younger bears a lot of responsibility for the destruction of the Republican Party. We would have been better off if Gore won. Fate, it seems, is not without a sense of humor.
We all would have been better off if Gore had won. The GOP would've still been on the same death-spiral trajectory, but at least we wouldnt've been subjected to their agenda for nearly a decade.
