I have no interest in Sela. I am very happy with my current charter. I'm just inquiring about what appears to be unfair treatment. I have read quite a few pages with different posters asking why MV was welcomed into DCI with open arms when it was months old, but I have not seen one coherent response. Only attacks of being Sela boosters or "wackos".
Because only wackos can't understand that MV has already been open and working well for at least 2 years, while Sela hasn't opened its doors yet. As we have discussed in dozens of threads already, where Sela boosters appear out of nowhere, in topics unrelated to Sela, to boost their case with exaggerated if not outright false claims.
I do hope the school succeeds, and am mystified about their behavior in this forum.
Wrong. The previous post is correct. MV was months old when they were discussing joining DCI. It's not even two years old now. What gives? Why the animosity? How was MV accepted so graciously and any other new or potential language charters (Sela or any others that open soon) have to prove their record?

Ditto - Another YY parent that would love to see an Arabic school. Probably the single most lucrative language an American could learn, from a future jobs perspective. Especially in DC - you speak, write and read Arabic? You have your choice of federal jobs.

The troll alert is a part of the trend of calling everyone who has an opinion different than one self a troll. I hope it stops on here soon. Getting really stupid. I'm the one who posted that Sela is getting a bad name by poser Sela boosters. It's true. Those are the trolls. I wish they would stop. How awful and terrible for kids in the city.

I don't believe for a moment that this isn't a Selah person. At first it sounds plausible they're not Selah-affiliated, as they say. But as you read their posts, it becomes obvious: definitely Selah. And I, like you, hope they are just the lunatic fringe and not truly representative of the school.

This is my first post to this thread. My child goes to Yu Ying. And I'm mystified at folks who accuse others of lying about their lack of ties to the school when they say even semi-positive things about Sela.

There is only ONE person on this thread obsessed with asking why MV got in when they did and is annoyed that anyone feels Selah should be open and succeed before it's considered for DCI. If you question that and think it's important, feel free to ask Jeff to look into it.

I think you need to go back on your meds...I am a Stokes parent and also have no interest in switching my DC to Sela. However, your odd bias and preoccupation with attacking Sela (which at this point has maximum 3.5 "boosters" since it's not open) is really getting cray-cray.
