Wow that is bizarre.

Oh yea they were the smallest bag too I might add... made me confused. Did he forget? Is he really that cheap? Is he tryIng to make me mad? It was like a kick in the balls if i had nuts! I would have rather he not have given me anything! So never give your wife a small bag of chips for Valentines day people!

My husband gave me dutch ketchup flavored chips for Valentines day! (Because i like to put ketchup on everything) Then he got mad because i was ungrateful! Worst gift I ever got!

My husband got me several gifts this year, including an ice scraper for my car even though I never use ice scrapers, and wipes to clean the windshield. And kitchen scissors because he misplaced the ones we had. You can imagine what he’s like in bed.

To all the other wives who aren't getting anything for the holidays or are getting crappy things, I feel you. And, I have tried everything--sending lists, links, etc., suggesting he just make the effort to plan an outing for us. He either never follows through or not in time (even though he had plenty of time) or only if I am standing right over top of him asking him to do it and I am just not going to do it anymore. Nor am I going to just buy something for myself and say it was from him and wrap it up. All special occasions are the same. And, no, he's not especially thoughtful about anything else either and puts pretty minimal effort into our relationship as a whole. He's pretty whiny about doing anything that isn't immediately something he wants to do. And, frankly, if he made any effort at all on the rest of our marriage, I would probably just chalk up the gift giving to a charming quirk. But, I dropped my end of the rope making an effort too and once I get my finances in order, I'll move out. Sometimes, no gift is more than just no gift.

I actually love love love my kitchen scissors. I didn't know what I was missing until I got kitchen scissors. I ended up buying some for my mom.

Buy your own gift in October or November, keep the receipt. Hand him both and tell him to wrap it or to return it only if he first shows you something and asks if you would prefer it.

We don’t exchange gifts with each other. Less waste. I don’t find it very thoughtful if I need to say exactly what to get me. What is the point then? I’d rather buy what I want than add to the landfill with stuff I don’t need or want

Not that helpful- earrings are still a gift.
