Very strong argument for having the best facilities (and yes, it is close especially with respect to golf) at Congo, but the membership as a whole is weak. That has always been the problem.

Yes, I would like more info as well on the VA clubs. Any thoughts? We are considering moving the next year. Are VA clubs worth it or is are the Big 3 in MD the only ones worth paying for?

I am aware that Bretton Woods is not a country club. But it has everything a country club has (more or less). It is a nice perk of being at the Bank or the Fund.

Bretton Woods is foremployees of the World Bank and InternatinalMonetary Fund. It is not a country club and is not open to anyone except the aforementioned employees.

I belong to Bretton Woods. It has all the trappings of a country club (tennis, golf, pools, club house dining, etc) without any of the ridiculous superiority. The fee is low ($300 a month with golf, $100 without golf) and there was no initiation fee.

From a social connections standpoint, I realize it's not a country club. Good.

This has to be a joke but, if not, think pronuciation.

Though spelled the same the pronunciations are different. Chevy as in "low end car" the "h" is not silent, whereas in Chevy (the club or comedian) the "h" is silent.

What's with posters shortening the Chevy Chase Club to Chevy? I have never heard it referred to as Chevy. Somehow I doubt the members want their club to be confused with a low end car.
