If I did not have this forum to check, I would have been clueless. It amazed me to read that some teachers "were enthusiastic," AART teachers were "helpful," people knew/know their child's GBRS. We knew nothing and the few times I tried to casually find out (after reading posts here) the teacher acted like she had very little to do with the process (and this is a teacher who I think likes my children, likes me, and I like!) The AART teacher gave me nothing and was the most blank/non-informative person I have ever encountered. Now, she was a 25+ year veteran and so may have heard/seen everything and decided this was the only way to be. But, at our school, you get the pool letter and then you just wait. Does not seem equitable in terms of information provided from school to school. Anyway, I really feel for those still waiting to hear.
That is exactly the process at our school. The AART is not approachable or friendly and the teachers act clueless and removed from the process. My dd got in (135 NNAT and 132 Cogat composite), but there was no communication otherwise.
