For people entirely disenchanted with performative politics while masses are distracted from real problems it has been a sh*t show regardless who is a power for a long while now. Trump = cartoon villain is certainly the dominating topic here and a stupid debate.
Objectively, there are many people in this area meaningfully less happy because of losing their Fed jobs, or fearing being deported, which makes sense. These two categories have absolutely valid reasons to be a lot less happy than others. For everyone else chugging along, what other categories of people would have legitimate hardships under this administration they didn't have already during Covid disaster and Biden's runaway train?
I have one friend with a totally traumatized 4 year old because ICE came into her daycare and aggressively arrested her teacher on school property. I have a non-binary child and I'm afraid for their safety as more people feel emboldened to say or do unkind or unsafe things towards them. I'm a teacher and at my school, we now have to do extra morning and after school duty to keep an eye out for ICE and try to keep them away from the car line. I feel incredibly unsafe doing this, but I'll do it to protect the most vulnerable. My family has pretty much given up eating out and ordering coffee because prices are so crazy. We always shop at Aldi first and then hit a traditional grocery store for the rest. My refugee friends have lost their SNAP benefits and are now only eating 2x a day instead of 3. Even the kids. (Yes, my family helps as we are able) I keep waiting for the entire market to collapse and lose much of my retirement. And just having to read or hear the insane things trump and his trumpettes say leaves me and everyone I know feeling gross. I could go on.

I go to work, go home, and make meals and that's it. Not buying hardly anything and don't feel like going out spending money or traveling. Just hunkered down at home.

The US trade deficit came in far lower than expected and it is because of President Trump
Negative fifty two billion
We are all the way back to June 2020 levels
Tariffs work
Trump was right
Scott Bessent was right
Howard Lutnick was right
America finally has leadership that knows how to win on trade instead of surrendering like the globalist crowd wanted
BREAKING: trade is collapsing. The economy is in the toilet. Americans aren’t selling their goods, and Americans can’t afford to buy the necessities of life due to tariffs. Massive layoffs underway.
China is doing great as America’s former trading partners look elsewhere.
Of course they are. By antagonizing Canada and Europe, they are all looking elsewhere, which is primarily China. That Trump and his economics and diplomacy teams didn't speak out more adamantly against these stupid ideas shows what a poor quality administration this is.
It's almost as if someone was paid by China to do this...
In May 2025, President Trump hosted a controversial dinner for the top buyers of his $TRUMP memecoin at his Virginia golf club, blurring lines between his business and presidency, sparking ethics concerns, and featuring VIP treatment for big investors, including Chinese-linked figures like Justin Sun, a Chinese crypto billionaire, with some top holders being foreign nationals, leading to calls for investigations into potential "pay-for-access" and self-enrichment, as reported by The New York Times, The New York Times, PBS, and Yahoo Finance UK.

The superficiality would be hilarious if it weren't so sad.
The trade deficit did not drop because we are selling more overseas. That would be a good thing.
We are selling less. And importing less. Just look at the 12 billion dollar farm bail out for an example of our selling less abroad. And people dialing back on Christmas because we are importing less.
Now, combine this with China hitting a 1 trillion dollar trade surplus last week and it is pretty evident that Trump Tariffs as a cudgel haven't worked well. Or even at all.

2025 has been one long year of severe anxiety and depression. I hate leaving the house, I am too anxious to drive and have everything delivered, I live in my robe. I forget the last time I’ve taken a shower. I dress out of the clean clothes in the dryer because I don’t see the point of putting them away. I don’t see people, I don’t go to anything social.
I’m not mentally well.
