You said that previously. Nobody cares.
Is this a racist comment?
Alum here. Hamilton has worked hard to increase minority enrollment. They participate in HEOP ( a New York State program for students from underserved high schools), POSSE and Questbridge.
It is admittedly an unattractive option given its’ rural setting and small scale.

That’s mandated by New York State. Back in the late 90s we all also had to pass a swim test and run a timed mile, which NYS colleges may still need to do?

College is so expensive these days. I am not sure I would do it unless there was generous financial aid, but that's my opinion.
I am laughing that Hamilton has now reached DCUM hate level along with Middlebury.

Agree with this. I was impressed with their advising which seems strong. Liked that each kid gets more than one advisor. Seems like a supportive place. Did not like what we heard about the divide on campus, which was heard firsthand from current students who are not that happy there. The area seemed...meh.
My kid liked other places better but it was on the list. Nothing super special about it.
The only "divide" on campus is that of the two different architectural styles which is the result of the merger with Kirkland.
this person keeps saying this which is so weird because it's the opposite of what we heard from current students who go there. why are you so invested in claiming otherwise?
Students who do not appreciate and explore Hamilton's spatial variety and the social subtleties associated with this variety will miss a connection to Hamilton's decidedly imaginative history. In any case, "divide" is a description I've heard only from outsiders, not from current students. — DP

I really like all of the food options. And the fact that there’s little cubbies all over the place. I’m coming from Colgate; Colgate’s a very different environment. Here, I feel like there’s more of a mix of liberal and conservative ideals. And so having that more free-flowing, liberal attitude is something I really enjoy and I’m just surprised at how much it is here.
