My DC has been with Rev for years and honestly I think they have tried to take on too much growth too fast. As with any institution you’re going to have people who are unhappy. I think we can have an honest discussion with those who are not fans to hear what they clearly feel are real issues. I have seen the club culture change over the years (more rapidly in the last two with the addition of some different-minded people) and it no longer matches my values. I’d be interested to know what other long timers (5+ years for us) think? Each of the changes (RSA, LU, Academy Select, GA, MLS Next 2, new fields etc) happened at the same time (almost) and none of them were given the attention or resources needed to be a success.

Anyone in the business world knows a major project should have its own team to succeed. Why is CCs name on literally everything? Even if he’s Superman, he can’t possibly have the expertise, time or resources to man all these different expansions. I keep thinking of the wise words of Ron Swanson “Never half ass two things. Whole ass one thing”. Rev needs to pick one thing, put their all in it, make it a success and then move to the next.

I’m so disappointed in the administration. Rev was supposed to be different from the other clubs but they’re not anymore. The “One Club. One Home. One Family” culture is gone.

SPOT ON! I miss the old days when we didn't feel the need to grab every league that comes along. Its not the same club we started with that's for sure (in a sad way).

Please join us in welcoming Coach Gus Donolo to the VRSC/LUFC family.

Hailing from Brazil, Gus brings a wealth of experience, passion, and a deep understanding of the game. He will be joining our Girls Academy coaching staff and will also be leading our USL Youth League.

We’re excited to have Gus on board and can’t wait to see the impact he’ll make within our club and player pathway. Welcome, Gus!

Aside from his private coaching gig and reputation for playing favorites, what do people know about his coaching style?

GD cares about nothing but money so gotta assume VRSC is either paying him well. Maybe has 2-4 teams and/or a directors position?

Is he joining the VRSC staff or just coaching a single team for the spring? Aren’t his GFR teams playing HS in the spring?

Combine this with GA options at five clubs, new grade level rules etc and you have major uprising again. These coaches treated seasoned players like trash to bring in outside kick and run failures and younger unexplained promotions that led to fall on your face failure in Norco.

They all coattails of cc and most parents saw the true nature of the coaching. They don't coach. They just try to get players from other clubs and move existing players down to second teams to build the club. It is a method that won't work now that there is league competition from other clubs giving girls options away from the club to continue to play at the same level rather than drop to the incredibly weak aspire.

I also expected more from CC and company, but it’s fairly comical to see legacy VRSC families bashing them when, as disappointing as most of the GA teams have been, they’re light years ahead of where the U13-19 girls black teams were prior to his arrival. Those teams were playing NCSL, in some cases not even in the top divisions. The Rankings app currently has the GA teams between 82 and 318 nationally. Teams at that age playing in NCSL probably don’t touch 700, with most outside 1000.

But CC is not the reason...nor the FCV players that followed him

Results improved dramatically in the first season he and they were there. If they were not the reason, then what was?

Players came from other places as well.

Funny, just a couple pages ago a PP posted and said they don’t get any good players and just kick and run…

Imminent kick and run comment is how they got better incoming

Even if players are playing high school I’d imagine they’d still be playing in showcases and tournaments? Especially if any are trying to play in college?

It’s the same players they think are great players because they kick the ball out to the other team every time. It’s the definition of good soccer skills. Every time. Were any selected for these great skills?

Yes but it’s not anything special. Every club gets to have invites. As long as there are players who won’t embarrass the club’s reputation, the coach will send them.

Congrats and good luck to the players that were selected. Some parents are disgraceful and disgusting. Sorry your player wasn’t selected this time.
