7. Solid private option in a region that doesn’t have that many private mid-sized colleges
A T25 private is elite, not just solid. Why does Emory get disrespected but the other T25s (ND, Georgetown, Etc) dont? It makes no sense.

If that makes you feel better. Why was this thread started in the first place? Anyway, when GT is a Top 25 school, let us know. At least Umich has that going for it.

Quick reminder, this is the level of cope GT boosters have in an Emory thread. Despite US news changing the ranking to give public schools a boost, Gatech still falls way behind Emory. It will NEVER happen for you guys, and now with UGA building a medical school, and CS dying because of AI; you have even more problems and coping to look forward to. Good luck

From Emory 2024-2025 CDS
Total first time, first year admitted and enrolled 1,438
Of those who actually enrolled:
Submitting SAT Scores 623
Submitting ACT Scores 286
= 909
That’s a crazy large number admitted test optional.
Thats a higher percentage than most top30 schools that are still optional. Also, it's 80% submitted this last cycle.

It lacks the prestige of an Ivy or other top privates and it lacks elite programs like engineering at GT or Michigan. Plus it doesn’t have D1 sports like Wake or Tulane, which are important to a lot of kids. It seems like an oversized LAC but not in a good way.
If it lacked the prestige, it wouldn't have the attraction dummy. If it's not D1, or not Rah rah, etc. It must have something to attract the caliber of student it attracts. Also, Emory's best program is better than anything GT or Umich has to offer. A #1 nursing program is more impressive than the obscure engineering majors GT does well in.
58% test optional with the lowest class ranking percents compared to other schools. what were emory’s scores pre test optional and how did it compare to these schools then?
What? The CDS reports that 63% of students submitted test scores. GPA has minimal bearing on intelligence, especially when many schools admit that test scores matter more and are more indicative of college success, so the reinstated test scores. Also, Emory does not look at freshman GPA, which is probably why the top decile is only 80%.
