Bmore was better than MD Red, all of the top PA players played for Philly in AA, most of the upstate girls were at AA. Long Island was split between the two events, however, with YJ kids choosing AS and 91 Roar choosing AA. And I saw what the older classes had up at AA as well, definitely more talent there.

MD AS 27 beats that AA Baltimore team.

Mostly accurate. However, I’d describe it as the top players from one local club, a few good players from other clubs, and not the best players from the rest of the clubs. The top players weren’t put in a position to win because at least a 1/3 of the roster weren’t even the best players from DV/VA.

AS is a really well run and fun tournament, but the selection process is unbelievably stupid and political. NB AA is just as well run, but most kids I talked to thought it was more fun and IMO the talent level for most regions was better. The 2029/30 DC team at NB AA was probably the only region that was weaker than its AS regional team, but they were still very strong and showed out well. They lost to the champion bmore team in the quarterfinals and played an excellent LI team tight until the very end of the game when they ran out of steam. If your kid makes AS, great, it will be a good experience, but if your kid makes both, send them to NB AA.
