T-38s are training planes. So some 23 year old was going way too fast and too low in one of the most problematic civilian-heavy traffic spaces in the country. Absolute BS.
It was FOUR T-38s doing a flyover at Arlington Cemetery.
On Friday, Delta Air Lines Flight 2983 was cleared for takeoff at the Reagan airport at about 3.15pm, at the same time four US air force T-38 Talon aircraft were inbound, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said in a statement.
The jets were heading for a flyover of Arlington National Cemetery when the Delta aircraft received an onboard alert of a nearby aircraft. Air traffic controllers “issued corrective instructions to both aircraft”, according to the FAA, which intends to investigate.

This is so dumb. Sorry, but we don’t need flyovers at Arlington. They already do the cannon salute. If one of those flyovers runs into a commercial airliner, all you do is traumatize the family of the veteran/soldier being interred at ANC plus at least 100 other traumatized families.
Who was being laid rest that necessitated a flyover?
I still want to know who was being transported to Langley via helicopter when the return flight hit the Delta airline. Given Trump's defensiveness at the press conference I'm wondering if it was VIP flight that did not need to happen.
I also want to know. When I raised the question in the thread about that plane crash, certain others went on the attack. Seemed like PR to try to get us to stop asking.
Without them providing proof or info, I am going to assume they had dropped off Elon Musk at the CIA. That's my theory based on the fact he was reported to have visited the CIA around that time period and also bc the helicopter was tracked as being very close to CIA HQ.
Rumor is the fight was over dei issues. Many atc are Trump supporters and he blamed the problems on dei. Tempers boiled over in the tower.Anonymous wrote:“A fight in the air traffic control tower at Reagan National Airport near Washington, D.C., led to an employee being arrested and charged with assault.”

Anonymous wrote:I flew twice last week and everything was fine and normal. A little short staffed with the employees on the tarmac but nothing major. Fewer baggage handlers.

Thanks MAGA and everyone who sat the election out, you guys are the best!!!!!
I'm as anti Trump as they come but this is not related. Helicopters are very unsafe and barely regulated. It's why I will not fly on sightseeing ones on vacation. This has nothing to do with ATC. This is a general aviation problem.
