Yep. I'm in your camp. But instead of figuring out how to adjust, no, it'd double down on what got us slaughtered.

First I think you're confusing entertainers with a political party and to what exactly was so quote unquote woke about the awards? You're going to have to elaborate. Use your words

dp, who doesn't agree with pps, BUT Chappell Roan presents as a drag queen. I don't know if that is woke, but it made me go hmmm....

But are her songs any good?

As a someone who is not her target audience, they are good songs

Beyoncé’s version of Jolene was do ear-splittingly bad that I had no interest in anything else on that album.

It’s always seemed that of the major awards the Grammy awards were the least aligned with reality and most susceptible to either being bought or used to virtue signal.

And giving a bunch of awards to Kendrick Lamar for an obscenity-laden rant at Drake? Gross. Guess we can look forward to another generation casually dropping the n-word and the f-word into every other conversation. I don’t ever want to hear another complaint about kids of any race using the n-word when Hollywood saturates popular culture with this crap. [/quote]
Yes. A rap diss calling one of the biggest artists in the business (Drake) a pedophile won 5 Grammys. I hope Lamar performs it at the SB halftime. There is a "clean" version of the song for more delicate listeners. The song has a life of its own at this point. Even middle aged white women, like myself, know and love the song.

ANY time they lose, it’s because it was RIGGED.

RIGGED and STOLLEN

1. Stolen is spelled with one L
2. In this case, the award for best album wasn’t stolen, but ibought for Bey by Jay Z.

I say this is a huge fan of hers, she absolutely did not deserve album of the year over the other nominees. In fact, she probably shouldn’t have even been nominated in that category.

Agree with this, but I also enjoyed Sabrina’s performance – while vocally it may not have been the best of the night, It was humorous, fun and cute – brought some good energy to the beginning of the show.

Yes! I also thought it was vocally not the best, but it was super entertaining. To me it had Marilyn Monroe vibes from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. She has that quality of being sexy, silly and fun that not many people have.

Are you like really young? Canadian?

This is not new, not for several decades.

Yes, which is one of the reasons why she recorded the album right? Because of what happened at the CMA’s in the past? I feel like the voters at the Grammys were sending a definite message of support to Beyoncé. It was interesting how the pop performers teared up for Beyoncé when she won album of the year finally, but the country music ladies look like sour grapes when she won best country album. I don’t think that’s because it was Beyoncé specifically but I think Lainey Wilson really thought this was her best chance at a Grammy.

I was super impressed with all the new artists. WHAT PERFORMERS! Benson, Doechii, Chappell, Sabrina, Raye, Charli. So much talent, and so happy for the future of pop music. (SO ready for the era of Taylor/Bey/Katie/Weeknd to be over, yawn.)

Doechii in particular, I had no idea who she was but WOW!

It’s a sublime song but this cover made me want to see the original band perform

I agree that song is too mellow for both Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars. They have such powerful voices and that song is just lost on them, they can’t do their magic with it. I love those guys.

Same with Billie Eilish I thought her performance was fairly muted and I love that song Birds of a feather, but I just thought her mic was low or maybe she had a cold? Compared to Chappell Roans it was low energy.

I hate that Randy Newman song, and I hated the opening song. Terrible vocals and just stupid.

Any performance stand out? Last year eople talked about the duet with chapman and country for fast car.

In my opinion, there wasn't a transcendent moment like that.

The opening group number about L.A. was not great musically. The modern "We Are the World" was kind of a mess.

Shakira and Chappell Roan were my favorite performers.
