It sounds like it wasn’t the controllers fault, but the President then went on a bashing spree blaming them for something horrific happening. Could you imagine the guilt that Air Traffic Controller is feeling right now that people died on their watch even if they did their job right, just to be dragged through the mud by the most powerful person in the country?

We have a president who rather than acknowledging that this is a tragedy where many good people died. He instead immediately wants to attack and blame and use divisive language.
Rather than acknowledge that He has continued to demonstrate abysmal, leadership skills and no empathy or compassion. In this moment we are instead are going over which kind of insane half-baked lie is got any kind of kernel of Truth.
This is what he wants. He doesn't want to take any kind of responsibility or leadership he wants to lie and then hope that everyone will be busy dissecting all of his lies so that he can move on to the next lie.

Things Trump did wrong: Pardon some of the J6 criminals who attacked police. He was wrong to bring DEI and blame to today's press conference really bad move.
Things Trump has done well: Quick action EO. Deportation will be popular especially the Columbia compromise. Mandatory RTO and the purging of career feds will be popular.
The rest is neutral on party lines
Purging of career Feds will not be long term popular. It will not save money and you apparently have no idea what Feds do or how their jobs are funded.
Right - we have understaffed Air Traffic Control Towers, with this 1 guy reportedly doing the work of 2, yet he and the other controllers that were there probably received the dumb “Fork in the road” email earlier that day.

How is this the controller's fault? It's clearly the fault of the army. Why are they having "training" flights right in a major flight zone? Why didn't they see the plane right in front of them?
Whatever the reason, it almost certainly leads straight back to some stupid thing someone in the new admin did, and they are deflecting by suggesting the controller did something wrong because they only got the job as a minority. But....wasn't the controller white??
The controller was doing the work of two.
Air traffic control is understaffed.
It was a year ago that Washington Times had an editorial about FAA not hiring air traffic controllers for being white.
Guess they shouldn’t have rejected 3,00 qualified white applicants on the basis of race and quotas.
Can you MAGAs please stop saying stuff like this without citing a reputable source.
It happened during the Obama years. This is a long read but it’s enlightening. And disturbing.
Maybe they weren't qualified.
They weren’t qualified. They were white.
If they’re not qualified, who cares if they’re white.
You idiots are stooping to the level of Trump with all this skin color ridiculousness. Grow up.
If there is something that can be fairly questioned at this point, it's why training/maintenance flights involving helicopters flying at 300 feet are happening that close to major airports in a routine manner. Too much air traffic with too many flight path variables for this not to have been an accident waiting to happen.
They have to train there because they serve as taxi service for congresspeople who need to be flown around DC. This is true. I don't understand why we are flying these people around. That needs to stop ASAP.

Lots of near misses PP.

And traffic has been increased in the DC airspace with more direct flights to tiny markets due to pressure from members of Congress who want quick flights back home.

WTAF are talking about? Reagan was out of office for 3 years and back digging post holes on his ranch in 1991.
You have zero credibility.
They mis-typed and corrected it later. He fired the controllers in 1981. They've been under-staffed ever since. Not even lying.

I mean Trump IS right when he showed all of the diversity insanity the FAA uses to hire candidates. Be 10000% honest, do you give a single flying F about whether a candidate is a quadriplegic, whether there aren't enough dwarves who are ATCs and the race of people manning the traffic of the skies while you are a passenger? Hell no. All you care about is landing safely and alive. Yet that's exactly what the FAA was forced to consider under Biden and Obama.... whether heightism and not enough mentally handicapped individuals are represented as ATCs. Utter and complete lunacy.
This is exactly why Trump won and why Democrats got smoked.
Please explain in detail what exactly you think is the problem? If there is a shortage of ATC then why wouldn’t you analyze your internal policies to see if you can expand the hiring pool?
The problem is that whether or not you're dwarf, a quadriplegic, your race, or if you have a learning disability takes precedent over qualifications and aptitude. None of those things should have any weight in the hiring process. Period. Yet Biden and Obama ramrod it through and force this junk. That's why everyone hates the Democrats.
Good grief. I want to be alive after flying. I don't give a rat's ass whether there are enough ATCs with learning disabilities who are represented in the tower or what the average height is for your crew. Utter insanity.
The FAA is not only ATCs, there are plenty of regular old office jobs. We haven’t had a commercial crash like this since 2009 so clearly they are doing something right.
Trump was taking about ATCs. He showed the document with the insane DEIngsr garbage they use during the press conference.
Imagine forcing people with learning disabilities into ATC roles for diversity purposes. Just nuts.
The way USA does diversity is utterly insane and mindless. Just no common sense at all. It's all fake facade superficial garbage that is putting peoples' lives at risk now.
