I’m sorry. That is surprising. I hope they get in later. But also that they are excited about other acceptances because with this profile there are sure to be some good ones. This is disappointing for them, I’m sure.

Quite low OOS yield rate for a T25, no?

Not as coveted OOS. Great in-state option ,albeit at a relatively high tuition.

I’m sorry. It just means that your kid will thrive someplace other than UVa. It’s a great school but you can be successful so many places!

lab costs. It costs more to educate an engineering student


Chem dept has more expensive equipment and labs than engineering. I suspect it is a more expensive faculty that is driving up the cost for engineering.

I want to see the videos of OOS parents crying when kids get in and see tuition alone is $81K a year.


DP. As a private college kid I would never pay that much for my kid to attend a very large public school. The differences in community between public and privates is very different.
