So imagine what happens when it is routine for the US military, post purge of the generals as has been proposed, are roaming the streets of the US with the mission of purges and adherence to Christian Nationalism?
Add to he the thousand even more more radicalized Oath Keepers who will be pardoned and released from prison post 1/6 convictions.
Fun times!

I’m a dem and it’s not like I agreed with someone like Rumsfeld on policy, but I trusted his intelligence / capacity to do the job. My parents vote republican and for years my dad has said it’s stocks and the republicans’ higher credibility on national security. I’d love to see the senate tell Trump to try again on this one, but I realize that’s not likely to happen.
Also, I personally don’t care about the divorces but since that’s disqualifying for leadership positions in the military as conduct unbecoming than I think the rules need to change or change they need to be applied here too.

Of course dcum doesn’t like him, he works for a living.
I will take a grunt over 10,000 4 star generals any day of the week.
He's far more than a grunt, but never made the "political" transition to rise above the rank of major. That said, he isn't a babe in the woods when it comes to civilian politics, having covered that in his stint at FOX. Yes, that's one of the reasons Trump nominated him, but it's not the only one. It seems like Trump is tired of the career politicians with token military service serving as SECDEF. He wants someone who will execute his agenda for the DoD - not someone who has their own agenda and is looking to sit on corporate boards for big $$$ after a few years.
Someone to "execute" with no executive experience?
It's just so painfully obvious. He has no executive experience. He's a Fox News weekend host. This isn't the job to get that executive experience. He has no chance of being effective.
