lot of mocking trump for being dumb and just saying whatever he feels like
The Joe Rogan thread on Reddit may be the absolute height of anecdata, but damn, no love lost for Trump there. Kind of brutal.
Honestly, the fact that most of them are calling it “boring” is very much what I expected. Trump rambled for 3 hours. WOW! Groundbreaking! Not like he doesn’t do that all the time at his rallies and fundraisers!
Except that it wasn't. The reason Joe Rogan is so successful is that he can make any guest look good, and conversation interesting. Rogan could probably do the same for Kamala, but there is no way her campaign will take a chance on her sitting for 3 hours for an unscripted conversational interview.

Her stated reason was that they couldn't make the schedule work. Which given that Trump would up basically missing his Michigan rally due to the taping,so that he could ramble incoherently for three hours, no makes her look like she's just more important and organized than Trump.
It's not like she's not going popular podcasts, either. I think she should do Rogan if they can make the schedules work.
But yeah, that Houston rally seemed like a bigger deal than Trump's interview or his sad little Michigan rally.
Here's hoping.
I'm not happy about this, but some of you are delusional. There is NO WAY the Houston rally is a bigger deal than Rogan. And to even suggest that scheduling conflicts are preventing her from going on the biggest podcast in the world is laughable.
At this stage in the campaign it's about turning out the people you know are voting for you. Rogan's base is young, mostly white men. They aren't going for Harris anyway. Meanwhile a rally with Beyoncé where she talked extensively about abortion rights? Might motivate more young women to get to the polls.
She's not going to convince the core Rogan listener to vote for her right now. It would be cool if she did it (because I think she'd do well-- 1:1 somewhat adversarial interactions are good for her because they show off her prosecutorial skills) but I don't think it should be a priority.
+1. I think she has more to lose than gain at this point by going on Rogan. I also don't think Trump going on Rogan and whining for a couple of hours is going to do much to turn out the vote.
On the other hand - this is about turnout and peeling off marginal voters. If Harris can reach a few more of these dude bros and convince them not to vote for Trump or to vote for her, these little marginal wins can make a difference in the swing states.
I'm not sure why she didn't go on Rogan. She's gone on a bunch of other podcasts, so she's def open to reaching voters where they are like that. Maybe she will go on, still?

Strategically, it's a hell of a good voter market to target. They Rogan listeners were never going to vote Harris, but they may have chosen abstention. Now with this appearance and the RFK endorsement / stumping, he has locked in that demographic. of (mostly) Gen Z listeners.
+1
I don’t count on democrats understanding this.
They will probably run another ad about nazis and flood the zone with more unsubstantiated rumors, their stale playbook is not deep.
Rogan laughed at him when he gave his non-answer to the question of how the 2020 election was stolen.
And Rogan can, but the appearance was still a net gain for that voter niche.
I don't think it hurt Trump, but I think Trump supporters vastly overestimate the effectiveness of Trump's communication style. If you're used to hearing Trump you've sort of normalized it (whether you like him or hate him), but he does not come across as coherent to the casual listener. Sound bites are his friend. Three hours of rambling is not.

He rambles like an arrogant sun setting rich boomer. Pretty much every boomer talks like this. He clearly hopes to just win and let Kushner run everything, again.
My parents are boomers and they do NOT sound like this. They are less sharp than they were even 10 years ago, but it's really insulting to old people to lump them in with that orange black hole.

HARRIS: "The governor and I, we were all doing a tour of the library here and talking about the significance of the passage of time, right, the significance of the passage of time. So, when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time in terms of what we need to do to lay these wires. what we need to do to create these jobs. And there is such great significance to the passage of time when we think about a day in the life of our children."
She's an idiot!
Truly, Harris is more articulate and well spoken than the entire MAGA electorate. The reason Trump is so popular is that he appeals to morons.
Hey, if you want your candidate to win, you might want to lighten up on the insults.
Democrats think they are better than everyone else and owed votes. Let’s see how that works out in November.
Agreed. It’s getting extremely tiresome.
Calling people nazis doesn’t make them want to vote for you, can someone let democrats know this and see if they can do something else next time? I get that they think it’s a winning strategy but really it’s just a terrible idea they seem committed to.
Biden stated on camera that democrats need to jail Trump but somehow republicans are planning “mass arrests.” mmm hmm.
Let’s see… Trump has vowed revenge on his enemies, has promised to use the military, has promised revenge against his political enemies, has promised mass deportations, said that regular people who support Harris should be on a list… and that’s just a partial list of what I can remember he’s said. Oh, and how he admired Hitler, that’s another one.
I think you and the other two Republicans on here who are supporting a fascist - which does make you a fascist, whether or not you like that fact - are uncomfortable with what that says about you, but thems the breaks.
Biden said Trump needs to be jailed. You are the baddies, projecting. We know.
