Good god.

I keep seeing on social media that they had their kids with IVF. Is that something she's mentioned in the record? If yes, isolated, that's not terribly abnormal for a pair of yuppies in their 30s, but with everything else about him, it certainly raises an(other) eyebrow about his sexuality.

Vance is a millennial who grew up with Facebook and camera phones and seems to have been a boozer in the military and at OSU, yet there's literally zero record of him with co-eds before he married his wife, who he didn't meet until he was a 25 or 26 year old law student.

That's because he was more into couches. Literally.

But doesn’t that give with the sexual fluidity democrats love? Isn’t that being pansexual? That should be something you’re happy about and celebrate, no?

I make fun of my friends' all the time because of the partners they pick. You new to planet earth or something? Locker room talk, baby!

I’m a super liberal millennial, and I’m not loving this “weird” thing (which incidentally I have only heard about here on DCUM). I think of the word weird as being a quirky, interesting person (a la “Keep Portland Weird”) and love “weird” people. Calling someone weird in a bad way feels like what we’re trying to get away from - bullying, othering, shaming for being different.

Now that said, bullying, othering, shaming for being different is exactly what the Republicans do - call it what it is. Not “weird.”

Does his relationship with Peter Thiel pre-date him and his wife?

I’m so disappointed that the pics of JD Vance dressed as that blue Greek guy were deleted. Why can’t we have nice things

Right, so George Washington was, what, ripping up the social contract? The very GOAT of founding fathers to our country?

Weirdo.

Also James Madison‚ James Buchanan, James K. Polk and Andrew Jackson had no biological children. At least five former POTUS with no bio kids. It's actually a bit interesting, given the lack of effective birth control back then. Also, Andrew Jackson is lionized by the modern rightwing in spite of his lack of bio kids.....which is also very interesting.

There's a fairly significant number of extreme right wingers who have at least one kid who rejects them/they reject over politics, gender issues, sexuality.

If this is true, how does he square it with the IVF embryo issue? Aren't the fundamentalists arguing that this falls under the abortion rubric, as extra embryos are created and destroyed?

Didn't they close all of the IVF sites in Alabama because of this?

You’re forgetting the GOP motto:
Rules for thee, not for me.
