Many anti-snob snobs on here- still important for everyone to differentiate themselves from the strivers. Now we fetishize formerly peasant stuff: salt, bread, cotton sheets, tomatoes, etc. No one here saying they prefer microfiber sheers and banquet frozen dinners.

I don't think other people want a home next to the highway or within feet of their next door neighbor. Sometimes it can't be helped with finances or timing not it's not desirable to people
Then why do sooo very many people buy them ? Especially in those "golf neighborhoods" GAG ! I'm sorry but I can literally hear your TV next door.

I think it’s really people with super clean kitchens and clutter-free counters who aren’t great cooks. I don’t care if you have a housekeeper; if you cook a lot, there are telltale signs.
Not if you clean a lot, too. Eew.
I don’t mean an actually “dirty” kitchen, but unless you’re detailing for an hour and a half after dinner, you are going to have some grate/burner pan residue. Some kitchens look like they should just put flower puts on their Miele ranges.
