But IF we have a choice, both DS and parents are torn on the pros and cons. DS would thrive at either. But I feel like, according to this website, STA might be less drama......any thoughts on academics, college outcomes, grading, teachers, sports, food, etc would be welcome. This is for HS!

lol. If the school wasn’t built or run by cc members why are buildings named after the cc members who built them and why does your HOS belong to one of the most exclusive? Who do you think pays for the construction, the scholarships, and extras? Let me give you a hint. The cc members you came in here to give an unhinged, hate-tinged “warning” about.

Which public schools?
Probably DCPS. Post Covid, APS (Arlington), and MCPS (Montgomery County) no longer allow students from outside the participating schools attend athletic events, unless accompanied by their parent or guardian.

The next entry year for us would be 7 and then 9th. We are very happy in our parochial catholic school and plan to be there through 8th grade. What are the benefits to applying in 7th vs. 9th? For those with kids at the school, would love to hear your experience at the middle school level and high school level.
Are you in 6th now? I hear that is a very tough class of parents. It can make a difference in your experience at a school like STA where parents are very hands on in parties and activities all the way through….
What? Sixth is a particularly nice group.
Agreed. Most friendly grade in the Lower school in my opinion.
Heard it is very insular among the Chevy crowd.
Really? Where did you “hear” that? 🙄

NP. Oh, please. Everyone knows about the nasty Chevy crowd at STA. Insecure mean girls still functioning like they’re in junior high. Almost all are proud SAHMs with nothing meaningful going on in their lives that derive their self-deluded status from home remodels, parties, clothes, and vacays. So fun watching them go at each other. A shallow moronic crowd that is a toxic element at STA.
It depends on the grade and thankfully ceases to be an issue by high school. We came in 9th and I couldn't even tell you who the CCC members are.

Sidwell has females and St. Alban's doesn't...so huge difference in gender diversity right there.

DP. Because you are not invited to their events and sadly neither is your kid. Your kid knows trust me.
Anonymous wrote:If you are a conservative be warned progressive families and administrators run the school. The HOS runs scared of these families who constantly accuse him of caving to wealth and privilege. Despite having hundreds of progressive schools send their kids to, whiny progressives demand to be admitted to a school where conservatives and CC members send their kids, then insult them and their way of life, and then demand a new governing board to rid the school of “MAGA / CCC”. Why did you send your kid there if you hate the people who built and fund the school? Progressives don’t stop until they ruin everything they touch even after the “good guy” HOS and his woke leadership team take their side on everything.
