He became aware that all 4 members of the Touey family were getting royalties from the movie while he was getting nothing. When he questioned good ole dad he didn't get straight answers. He was already a football star before living with the Tuohys. I don’t think they changed the trajectory of his career except influence his choice of college.

If you are savvy business people like the Tuhey's are, you may talk to Oher about capitalizing on their story. And it's not JUST Oher's story. It's all of theirs. And they all should profit. Bottom line is there are a lot of us that have riveting stories that, with the right connections, startup money and/or business savvy could make some buck off of. Just having a story doesn't get you everything Oher is asking for.

They had no story without him and lied to him and all of us. How cheap not to share the royalties with him. Thanks for verifying that everything they did was about making another buck for them and getting lots of attention for themselves. What goooood people they are.

Not true. Oher had other people that were helping him, including a friend's father who introduced him to the principal of the private school where he played football. Oher had played football before and could have found success without the Tuohy family.

But - I still go back to asking why should he get all the money she made by going around giving speeches? She writes them, she advertised and marketed herself to get the invites/contracts, and she performs them. I've never seen anything she's done but if they are about HER perspective and HER experience with Oher then she has every right to make money doing it.

Oher's not asking for all the money, just a cut of what should be his-which is not unreasonable. No one would be paying attention to Leigh Anne without Oher's name. If Leigh Anne wants to be a motivational speaker on her own merits, and not pay him, perhaps she should refrain from speaking about him. Let's face it, without Oher, the Tuohy's are just another rich white family.
