I believe it. He looked absolutely broken in 2023. Still does imo.
I believe TS loved him more than any other of her bfs and wanted to be with him but on her terms: with NDAs, apologies to Ice Spice and the likes, moving to her apt in NYC, being vigilant abt what he says and how he presents himself etc. He is an artist and pretty uninhibited too, so he prob got fed up with her prioritizing her PR and fame over him all those years (when I am convinced they were secretly hooking up) and walked away. So she went crazy with all those heartbreaking, desperate, and vindictive tracks on TTPD. Not that I am complaining, because it is my favorite album of hers. But yah, people got hurts badly in the process, notably MH.

As a horse lover myself, I absolutely loved Matty’s interview in 2019 where he talked about getting clean with equine therapy. He sounded intelligent, and I was impressed by his depth. Taylor couldn’t have come up with a better description than “a tortured poet” if she tried!
