Instead of the future with flying cars, we got this one. I'm starting to feel a little salty about that.

Wokeness, originally meaning the ability to recognize and address injustice, increase empathy for others, and awareness of the world around them, is of course a good thing.
Unfortunately, it has come to mean something different. It has come to be associated with virtue signaling. Mob culture. Deplatforming. Cancel culture. Sanctimoniousness. And ironically, displays (sometimes violent!) of intolerance. Like what happened to Riley Gaines in San Francisco recently. It’s become pretty awful and doesn’t epitomize empathy at all. Even if you disagree with someone, you should be able to recognize their humanity and understand why they might have a different point of view. This is lost on many in the “woke mob” of today.
But who's getting deplatformed and canceled? It's the ones who deny, or worse yet, engage in and promote the injustice. And, the mob is reactionary. The mob is the people who've experienced bullying, but who've learned that they have strength in numbers to stand up against bullies. As for "virtue signaling" that's another dumb, cynical term invented by sociopathic right wing pundits who can't seem to fathom that yes, people might actually care about injustice and want to do something about it. But since they themselves are sociopaths they project their own sociopathy onto others and pretend it's all fake.
Also, regarding "you claim to be tolerant" refer to Popper's Paradox of Tolerance, and I think it's odd that you expect others to recognize your humanity and why you might have a different point of view when you don't extend the same to them.
+1
Really good.

Here’s the problem: you assume, that because I disagree about something, that it is because I do not recognize someone’s humanity. The fact that it’s so hard for you to imagine that I can fully see someone, see their humanity, love them, feel that they deserve respect and dignity, and yet disagree with them on something, shows something about you, not me.
