But, the difference is, unlike last fall when this exact kind of work trip threw me off for months, I am not going to let it derail me this time. Yes, I had four donuts, yes, I had dessert at the restaurant, yes, I had a bag of cookies from the snack shelf, yes, I stopped for candy at the gas station on my way home. But, I am back on track today and will give myself grace. The lesson I learned is that I have to plan better for food on these kind of trips. The town I go to has very limited restaurant options and it is difficult to find healthy food. The office I attend is in a remote location and the only food brought in is garbage. I don’t have time to drive anywhere to get food during the day so I have to plan and pack some in the future. Or just acknowledge that these chips are going to be a disaster.
I really appreciate the two of you who asked about me and I wish I could say I did better. Still, I am committed to getting back on track.
I'm so glad to hear your update!!
Yeah, that trip was a doozy with the 4 donuts, etc.!!! But I love your attitude, it was just a blip in an otherwise really good string of days! This thread has been going for a while, and when you are at home, you do fine. So your realization that you need to plan ahead for the trips, allow yourself some slippage, and don't beat yourself up over it is really agood one.
As of right now - you ARE back on track! To a great Thursday!!
