It feel like the cost of going out for an upscale meal has doubled in the last 2-3 years. We ate recently at Tail-Up Goat and it was $700-plus for four people. Mandatory tasting menus, higher prices in general, add-on fees, 22% pre-calculated tip. And my DH was hungry afterward because the portions were tiny. I don’t know about overrated, but it just doesn’t seem worth the expense anymore, even when it’s good.

Thai is really hit or miss here and it’s mainly miss so I’d be interested to hear what you think is okay. Le Dip is fine. It’s like Starbucks. You get what you expect.

Radial is completely mid tier. Awful service.

I hope you’re a better eater than proofreader.

Rasika

I have not been to Rasika in ages but it was amazing when I went. It would be sad to hear their quality has declined.

I don’t think Le Dip is the best restaurant in town but at least among people I know, it’s appropriately rated. They do what they set out to do. I’ve never had a bad meal there and the service is always good, even if it’s not my favorite restaurant. It’s very reliable which makes it a go-to for out of town guests or special occasions.

Rasika’s has gone to trash.

Rasika's what has gone to trash?

Palak Chat (Spinach) even tasted weird last time I went this month —not for restaurant week. I took friends who I had ranted and raved to about Rasika and it was an insult.

Medium rare is like what the hell? I don’t get it! Tried it once and that was more than enough.

Ate dinner at Rasika 2 Saturdays ago and it was the worst excuse for Indian food I’ve ever experienced. Simply horrible. Used to be stellar. It’s fallen from grace.

District Taco is bad.
