Or do you think the most likely scenario is a cleaner (who you already admitted is lazy) was caught doing something she shouldnt and is covering for herself? Again- who benefits from lying? Honestly this should be obvious OP, you should even need to have it explained.

Duh. This is the context to the only explanation I have to why they would be afraid someone called cops on them out of the blue.Anonymous wrote:
You are a liar to say that people replying are "bringing race into" the story. You described the cleaners as Mexican about five times, insinuated that they're illegal

It is not a fun job and being high will at least make the job more bearable. It's not like they're performing surgery or flying a plane. By the time they're done cleaning, the high will have worn off most likely so you don't need to worry about their driving. It was most likely the neighbor trying to deflect blame. Shame your cleaners were even brought into it. I would've kept my mouth shut.

Anonymous wrote:I think you made a mistake in accusing the cleaners of smoking marijuana without having any direct evidence yourself. I would expect you’d have been able to smell it on them if they were doing it in the car.
A better course of action would have been to thank the neighbors for the info and keep an eye on things. I’m not sure how you expected this to go. [/quote

So nice white mom catches her druggie kid relapsing and doing more drugs. Druggie kid lies and blames the Mexican housecleaners next door for the marijuana smoke to save herself from the consequences of her own actions. Nice white mom, wanting to believe that her druggie kid "wouldn't do that" and tells OP about the horrible people she has employed. And both nice white mom and OP rely on their knowledge of "those people" to know that it is far more likely that two hardworking housecleaners who have never shown any evidence of drug use would be hotboxing in a clients garage at 7:30 in the morning than a not really recovered and relapsing lazy white teen who has already been in rehab for drug problems. Because that's what Mexicans do
OP here. I think you're all being racist by bringing race into this. If we were to flip it and the cleaners are now two white women, I would still question them, as well.
I take race out of the equation here. I've seen white people do drugs, black families do drugs, latin families do drugs. Drugs don't see color. Nothing is off the table.
So maybe, just maybe I'm not only one here who is not racist.

So why didn't you explain so politely to your druggie neighbor that you don't like marijuana, that you don't like lying, and you don't want anyone who is smoking to be on your property?

Another adult pot smoker here. Great post except for the last sentence. If I'm headed some place (a hike, gym, friends place, restaurant, etc) and want to get high first, it will be 2 or 3 quick hits off a bowl with the windows down. The smell will be gone within seconds. Few people older than 18 are driving around in a suburban neighborhood acting like Cheech and Chong, especially if they are here illegally and thus want to avoid interaction with
