I personally think it's doing a disservice to the girl's wrecking confidence and just overall not a good experience for most of them to get pounded like that week after week.

Agree with many above...especially for the B teams. They take your money and then ignore the problems, such as coaches quitting/not showing up for games and practices. They will take anyone who can cradle a ball and stick them on a Carolina team...tryouts are a joke. The club owner is scattered and can't seem to keep coaches on staff. It's a mess. Certainly not worth $3K a year. Plus I heard she is looking to sell.
WHOA!! I wish I had followed your advice from last June. All I can hope for is that the sale will lead to an improvement and the club directors will quickly get out of the new owner's way! LIKE ASAP!!!
I'm not sure of your DDs age, but if it were my DD I would seriously look for a better run club not so sure the Stars thing is actually happening I have been hearing that rumor for years now. I'd take pride, BLC, NL, HOCO over MCE. I hate to say this but I would possibly even consider Rebels or Renegades as well over MCE at this point.
Renegades, maybe. Rebels? Hell no. They had TWO teams TOTAL in NGLL. And one was a combo year team! They'll be lucky to field any team in NGLL next year as the 27s age out. Run, don't walk away from that s-show.
The Rebels S show or the MCE s Show?

I think people are freaking out because of the sale?
If they are selling to St. James as the rumor says if JR has nothing to do with the new MCE they are better off staying.
I would say they also need to clean house on some of the coaches maybe wit the St. James reputation they can get some decent coaching in place and the club will have a chance after it rebranded Stars MD.
clean house? MCE coaches are not an issue, if they were, STJ would not be interested in collaborating. I heard they are not rebranding to Stars. MC Elite has years of successful college recruiting under MCE that is what STJ is getting, and MCE is getting Kristen Carr UNC, USA National Team. Remember Stars was only middle school until the 25s, so no recruiting class yet. MCE's HS and college impact is not fake news and STJ is fully aware of what this merger will do for the DMV.
still waiting....
HAHA wait what HS impact does MCE have really? And as for those years of successful recruiting, those are in the past ever since JR took over it's been straight to the gutter with any team that wasn't already established before she took them over. The coach issue will sort itself out in due time there are two good coaches at MCE right now they will be recognized and get to stay the rest of that pile will be gone in short order I bet.
JR never "took over" the club. She is the Club Founder. She stepped away for a few years and came back but she started the Club 25 years ago. But Capital and MCE have all the top players on private HS teams, I'm pretty sure. Maybe a few from Pride or Heros. But Next Level never has any top players on HS Varsity teams. I don't have a dog in this fight but I do hate to see misinformation being spread. Also - MCE isn't merging with Stars. They are being bought by STJ. Huge difference IMO.
JR was a co founder and she "took over" sole control a few years ago when the other co-founder left. And that was the point the club started its decline. Tell me again how MCE has impacted HS lacrosse I mean besides filling the benches with subs for these HS Teams. I mean the starters do need a minute every now and then I guess that could be considered as an impact.
Capital has the top players, not MCE get real. The private HSs in the Dc metro area are full of Girls from Heros, M&D, HoCo, Pride, SW. Look at any Varsity roster and tell me how many of them have more than a couple of MCE girls on them let alone starting and then tell me how many of them receive and significant playing time on a top team.
There are people here who do not know the club history and impact. Too many examples but the history is online. All of the current college players that played for MCE were also impact players in HS. Look it up. These girls played with the club since middle school when the NPYGLL and NGLL were critical for development. Lets look at #3 Denver, starting goalie, MCE and a freshman from Visi, also MCE, and two more local commits, one who has played MCE exclusively, the other left after 9th grade, but had already made varsity as a freshman. The data is there, no need to tear down a program that has huge success, take the blinders off to why STJ is buying MCE.
That is the problem with MCE it is living on its past. I have said this before those days are over for them they died when JR took 100% control that killed it. As far as why STJ wants MCE it's because of the location they want in Maryland period point blank to try and draw some girls from the Baltimore clubs. TBH it's the best thing for the girls and the club if MCE is sold and JR leaves and just walks away with all the money she has heisted from parents over the years.
The current elem and MS program is no different than it has ever been. Not living in the past, the measure of success of the elem and ms years is what happens on HS and college fields. Club is just a tool to HS and college success, The current HS players who play for MCE are doing just fine...
Part of the issue is that the really talented girls always leave MCE because of the lack of consistent good quality coaching. If the coaching was better the really talented players that leave when they get to HS to play for Capital, Sw,hero’s and M&D would stay but because that doesn’t exist at MCE they look elsewhere. MCE is not a top tear program and hasn’t been for at least the last 4 years
Always? Nothing has changed the last 4 years with the program, the parents thought grass was greener or wanted a change, were misguided. The 24s have talented players that did not leave had great coaching, r committed and doing great on HS field. The other girls who left r either on B teams and not committed (except goalie), Heros girl quit, Capital A players would have been recruited at MCE too at same level, 2 25s left no loss, 26s r just fine. 22s and 21s did just fine and they were with program last 4 years. No need to put the program down and create fake news.
Then explain the losing record this year.

Remember Stars was only middle school until the 25s, so no recruiting class yet. MCE's HS and college impact is not fake news and STJ is fully aware of what this merger will do for the DMV.
