I hope she is inundated with millions of wire hangers.

Well Catholics bring it in themselves with their rampant hypocrisy and misogyny.

You're in the minority full stop.

The vast majority of Americans do not believe the government should be making health care decisions for you.

Like I said, I know I'm in the minority on DCUM. And abortion is not a "health care decision," in the vast majority of cases.

Choosing not to give birth, which is statistically more dangerous than having an abortion, is a “health care decision” in every effing case.

Then don't get yourself pregnant. Problem solved.

Then allow access to birth control in ALL forms.

Birth control pills should be sold over the counter. Let women control their future.

Exactly! Sorry guys, I’m a liberal dem. Used to be deeply involved in abortion rights. But I’m just sick of it. Y’all didn’t make it happen for Hillary. So this is what happens. Wake the F up. Even if you did vote for Hillary…if you’re white…I Fing guarantee you that you have family that voted for Trump. Get your house in order or STFU.

Yeah this is kind of where I’m at too.

Well wait until you have a daughter or son and you may feel differently. Maybe they will need to terminate a pregnancy or need an ivf procedure or have some other difficult reproductive issue that will you will want them to have power decide.

Upper income people will always be able to get abortions no problem (or arrange them for their daughters). It's lower income women who won't just as easily pick up an travel to a blue state who are going to have problems. And of course, the red states who are fanatical with the anti-choice stuff also tend to be the worst when it comes to any sort of health care or family services targeted at low income people.

Probably a SC liberal law clerk for sure. To stir up trouble and get judges threatened.

Informed speculation on Twitter was a sotomayor clerk

I've seen speculation all over the place for several different purposes.

There's agreement that this hurts the Court, the trust and collegiality of the justices. Badly.

Who cares? The sooner SCOTUS figuratively implodes in on itself the better. If the last several years has made anything clear it's that we have put far too much trust for far too long in our "institutions" when what we really have is iterations of corruption echoing through every part of government.

You broke it, you bought it.

Well there aren’t any Fundies on SCOTUS.

No, but the Fundies voted for the Republicans who put the conservative Catholics on the Court. They are the backbone of the Republican Party.

Oh believe me, I know.

I don't think this helps Republicans in the long run. This has been the thing they have dangled over their base for a long time. If Roe goes away, then a certain chunk of the base who were single issue voters on abortion can actually start considering other things and may vote differently. How many religious women in particular held their noses and voted Trump because he was the pro-life candidate? I know at least a couple. They hate Trump and would gladly vote for a Democrat if abortion were no longer an issue to be debated.

I hate that this is happening but I would consider it a good thing for right wing politicians to not be able to use it as a wedge issue anymore.

I’m guessing a female clerk for a conservative justice leaked it. But whoever it was wants the opinion changed and is maybe hoping the backlash will get Roberts and someone else to flip so he can control the opinion.
