Her interior decorator has stated she had a room in the house with Brad as a nursery. So pretty sure she wanted kids with Brad.

There are many ways to have kids nowadays. Carrying a baby yourself from your own egg is one of them. Adoption was good enough for Angelina Jolie and Charlize Theron, both of who with superior genes to Aniston. She is child free by choice.

Who cares. If they did have these conversations it was over 20 years ago. She dodged a bullet with Brad, do people not realize he’s estranged from all six of his children? He’s a drunk and a drug addict. He’s admitted he is recovering from a 30 year drug and alcohol addiction. He went through an incredibly nasty divorce with the mother of his six kids, which says a lot. I realize Angelina is herself crazy, but it takes two to tango. He actively sought out that crazy and added fuel to the fire. I am sure Jen is so thankful she didn’t have a baby with him.

I personally believe that she and justin never tried to have a baby. I do believe that she tried to have a baby with Brad and maybe at some point she tried to go alone, but I just don’t believe that she and Justin wanted kids. They lived on separate coasts, they were never officially married, and they broke up 9 years ago and still no baby for Justin.

He’s 54. I realize that he recently married a 31 year-old and could have kids in the future. but it certainly wasn’t a priority. He also seems incredibly immature and into himself.

I don’t think she ever really wanted to be a mother but she quickly discovered it was in her best interest to avoid saying that publicly. Instead, she developed a PR strategy that leveraged media interest in that aspect of her personal life. That’s fine I suppose, but it’s a choice she made that opened her up to decades of speculation and ongoing discussion. She could have avoided all this by either affirmatively stating she didn’t want kids or shutting down any related questions. She chose not to, and that’s why I truly believe the lady never wanted to be a mother but enjoyed (profited?) from fueling the speculation for decades—including now.

Honestly, she’s set the feminism movement back by not owning her decisions. She’s no hero. I credit women like Chelsea Handler and Sarah Silverman who make clear it’s okay to opt out of motherhood.

I don’t think you’re wrong, but we just don’t hold men to the same level of scrutiny. Look at Justin Theroux who again at 54 is still not a dad and no one is constantly asking about it. Not to mention it’s a lot easier for men to become dads and still go on with their lives and have their baby mama whether they are together or not do most of the parenting.

I don’t disagree with you that may have been Jen’s story, I also don’t fault her for putting out a false narrative because we are really hard on women who don’t become moms. And her career was always built on being America’s sweetheart, unlike Chelsea Handler and Sarah who have always been edgy.

People always say women are judged for not choosing motherhood, but I really don’t think that’s the case. Sure, some might ask a woman (especially a newlywed) if she wants kids, but that doesn’t mean they’ll think poorly of her if she says she doesn’t want to be a mother.

I know tons of women who opted out of motherhood. They range in age from early 20s to 70+. Most of my peer group is in their 40s/50s and it’s NBD. Having said that, some of them are obviously insecure with their decision and project that “everyone” judges them. They don’t. The reality is small talk is just small talk. Answer and move on.

Jeez people are rough. She tried for a long time with her second husband and did lots of fertility treatments. Marriage imploded and at that point she wasn’t exactly young. Makes total sense to at that point say … enough.

I have total respect for people that adopt. All kids come with issues but bio kids at least often come with issues you can predict and have some familiarity with. Adopted kids can often be a bit of a surprise and I think anyone that says that adopted kids (on average) are as easy as bio kids probably is not sufficiently educated about the issues with adoption. And let’s not present that there are tons of perfect babies up for adoption — this isn’t 1960/ Ireland where “ruined” girls had to give up their babies. Most children up for adoption are somewhat older and have some early childhood trauma.

I think the mistake Jen made was ever discussing it at all publicly. "That's a very private issue that I only discuss with my doctor and significant other."

Jen was also involved in a very high profile celebrity marriage with Brad Pitt who openly talked about how he couldn’t wait to become a father the last couple years of their marriage. He then left her for another huge celebrity who had just adopted two kids and they went on to adopt another and have three bio kids.

That is very different than a Chelsea Handler situation and just very tough for anyone to navigate. A lot of people just said that Brad left Jen because she was too selfish to have kids or pursue any infertility treatments when they were having trouble. That was a narrative that did continue for years.

And because of it, she did say that she did really want to become a mother, which caused endless speculation every time she was seen with a man.

So I do feel for her. That’s a really tough situation but yeah I think at this point she should be able to navigate it better. The thing is, she did an interview a few years ago, where she talked about how she struggled with infertility treatments for years. I’m just not sure why she didn’t leave it at that. Unclear why we are still talking about it.

The irony is, Brad did end up having his big family but is estranged from every single one of those kids. Ouch.

She's not considerate enough for these conversations as well. Her DNA comment was harsh knowing Sandra has two adopted kids and publicly has a strong stance that DNA isn't a determining factor. There are vaild concerns about bonding with another child but reducing it to wanting her just DNA in little person was shallow and showed it wasn't the venue for that type of conversation.
