How so? Deciding to go after the people responsible for the games rather than settle into a quiet life near his daughter? It showed strength and bravery on the character who started out as weak and selfish.

Okay am praying 🙏🏽 actually.
Lol.
I think the old man 👴🏼 did not really die in the final episode.
(Oops….Spoiler Alert 🔼⭕️⏹!)
I think he mixed a liquid or power sedative into the H2O that was in the decanter so when he asked the main character to give him some - then he would be knocked out at Midnight.
I feel the old guy is full of tricks and not to be trusted one bit.
Plus he was a pivotal character who is vital to the plot of this series.
I am banking the red headed guy, the protagonist of the show is turning around & going to the next Squid Game.
He will be pissed off + we know he is a hot-head when angry so I think his primary focus will be to not rest until the folks at the Squid Games (the leaders, etc.) are penalized severely for all the people who were killed during the savage games.
He likely even holds them responsible somehow, perhaps indirectly for the passing of his beloved Mother.
He will give his daughter a good reason for postponing his visit w/her in order to keep him in the audience’s good graces.
Hopefully some backstory will be provided regarding the Front Man.
Such as why he abandoned his family.
How all his riches have changed him.
Most important:
Did he really kill his younger brother??
Because like the old man > we never did see him as a bloody corpse.
Which is how most everyone else ended up after being gunned down.
I don’t think the Front Man killed his brother. He aimed for the shoulder area, not a vital spot. Also, he didn’t demand the staff find the body unlike other times. Like you, I think the police officer brother is going to show up if there’s another season.

DP. The main character thread was not lame, but the old man dying so cynical was lame. Sort of believable that he was the creator of the games, less believable that the only reason he created it was because he was bored, but the worst was that he continued to distrust people even after the main character showed him grace. The old man betting that man on the street would die unaided, when the main character saw hope in humanity, really bummed me out.
