My best guy friend in grad school was a gay sex addict on the down low. He’d date very attractive successful women who had no idea about his anonymous hook ups, often with married Christian men. Sooo….
I get it about how much fun it is to hang with a down lower with a great sense of humor, fabulous sense of style related to women’s fashions (Tyler used to be a women’s dresser🤨) full of love for life, passion for the arts and no kids to take away any of his attention. But this dude is late forties never married, wears a uniform of his own graphic tees with a bandana on his head daily, and he has a deep need to be heard. His videos are some of the most performative, self conscious cringe fests ever, and they just keep on coming.
It’s easy to see why he’s interested in Jen: exposure to half million new followers, podcasts with big names like Abby and Glennon, free trips to fancy resorts and lakeside locals, and a desperate white woman who love bombs him online which is free advertising for his Tyler merit project.

And this is not a slam on Tyler.
It’s just based on obvious chemistry and comparability. Texas Barbie is hot, has a job equal to her mate, and they look super happy together.
Jen is coupled with an obvious gay man who has 1/10 the following as he does. And they are an odd looking couple.

I’m in year four after a horrific divorce (abuse/addiction). I am still single and doing a lot of healing and work.
I think it’s great if Jen has partnered up- no jealousy here- but definitely some quiet eye rolls and smirks at her telling anyone anything about “being alone” when she made it about a minute single. I find her rush to department sad and ultimately very very shortsighted.
It might have been fun to see her doing something more non traditional than finding a token African American to beard for.

Todays post hits this strange note of her suggesting she’s found this “easy love” because she did all the hard work and was ok with being alone before he came along. Ah, there’s some pretty lengthy online evidence she was far from comfortable alone and heavily longed to have someone to offset the agony of seeing Brandon happily in love with his nurse girlfriend. She operates in a sort of delusional space. Wonder how all the single divorce’ followers feel who have been alone many years not Jen’s whopping year and a half before finding, “the one”?
Not to sound cynical but I wonder how much Tyler chips in towards their travels together. FB photos of his apartment suggests he doesn’t have a lot of capitol. How is he generating income as a influencer/author? I sure hope she’s not floating him a bunch just so she can have someone. Those last few years of her being the main breadwinner with Brandon were not good for anyone.

I appreciate this. Everything's fine. I have a multi-ethnic family too from infertility and that's one reason I started following Jen. And I could never speculate about Tyler other than her interest seems to be genuine. I do know that I have cultivated friendships with people who are the same ethnicity of my children. I think it's been very helpful.
There have been a lot of hurt over the years from people who just say insensitive things. I've try to grow a thick skin.
Jen's hucksterism is a whole difference kettle of fish though. Sorry but I call it as I see it.

I like Beto and wish he'd win as the men who've been running Texas for the past decades are terrible but sadly he's not the guy or girl that's going to do it. His position on guns is a total deal killer here. Texas isn't like other states. It is its own thing. It's going to take someone who's more moderate and can appeal to a broader voter base.
